If I could rate zero stars I would. Do not use Hertz at 10585 Atlantic Blvd, Jacksonville, FL. Made a reservation for a car rental for 4:30pm, I called in the morning around 8:30am to see if I could pick up the rental earlier, anywhere between 2-4:30pm. Was advised by Renea that if the rental is available sooner, they would call. Received a call from Robert at 11:48am and he advised the rental was ready and can be picked up at ANYTIME today. THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER..45 min on hold before someone picked up...Talked to me for 1 minute to get information...now still on hold for another 2 1/2 hours... Really....This is all due to their mistake..

Poor customer service and customer relations. Representatives did not want to give their names and employee numbers. They refused to transfer my call. They repeat standard statements when requesting to speak to a supervisor. My first and last time renting a car from Hertz. I strongly suggest customers to use another rental car company.

I recently rented a vehicle through hertz at the Los Angles Airport. Everything went smooth at check out. Once I returned the rental I checked it in at the Louisville Airport in Kentucky. Upon check in I was told everything was fine and my receipt will be sent via email. A few days later I was hit with a $400 cleaning fee. I called customer service and was told there was nothing I could do because a staff member said the vehicle "smelled" like smoke. I do not smoke! Do not rent from Hertz! I rented a suburban via Travelocity with Hertz Rental. I had a confirmation of the rental and paid for the 3rd party insurance. I checked directly with Hertz a week before the rental and the Hertz customer service person told me he could "save me about $22" by switching my rental number. This was a lie. If you enjoy frustration with your car rental, Hertz is the company for you. If I could, I would give Hertz zero stars. I had traveled to O'Hare Airport and decided to rent a car at the Hertz Car Rental in St. Charles, and I had booked it a month early. When I went there, to my surprise, it was closed. I never received a notification that they are closed by noon on a Saturday. It took me 3 phone calls to reach a representative that was able to assist me. I rented a car last year in August and returned it with no issues. 10 months later, I am still dealing the billing problem resulting from Hertz undercharging me. In November, I received a letter from Hertz debt collections department claiming that I owned them $380. I promptly called Hertz and payed the amount they said I owned, which was more like $450. I continued to get letters from Hertz demanding the $380 payment for several months. I verified several times with Hertz support who said I didn't owe them money. ... read more

Horrible! Reserved a car a week in advance. I was called 1 hour before I was scheduled to pick up my car by hertz stating, they were our of cars. I called the 800 line. No accommodations made. Customer service was horrible. Displayed an "I don't care" attitude. Pretty much, sorry for your luck. I am unable to make it to my location and I'm out of the money I paid for my hotel. Worst experience with a rental car company.

If I could rate a zero, I would. In April, We rented a 7 passenger vehicle from Hertz for June 4-11. When we picked up, it was a 2019 Kia Sorento with 59,000 miles. It was damaged in front, rear, both sides and roof. Dirty interior. Needs service light came on before we arrived home 60 miles from rental agency. Tried to call emergency roadside service and was on hold for 1 hr 15 minutes. Finally gave up. We had to have vehicle to transport 6 people so we continued trip.
