Had a reservation scheduled for tonight (5/27) at 4 pm. We talked to three separate departments all of whom claimed they didn't see our reservation. Finally we spoke to the fourth department who told us yes you do have a reservation, and who ever told us they didn't see it was lying to us. Come to find out now there are no longer any vehicles available. My families vacation was ruined. Deposits lost. It was my first time ever using hertz and what a horrible experience it has been.

Rented a car from Hertz to pick up in D.R. The quote was $351.00 at the airport I was informed it would be $900.00. After freaking out it came down to $736.00!!! Not wanting to be stranded at the airport I took the car. Next time I'll cancel and take my chances. Never rent from these rip off artists!!!

Horrible customer service! Hours on hold to talk to someone and then impossible to speak with anyone in the United States. Finally got a call back code for a supervisor to return call NEVER DID! I was dropping a car at different location and agreed to drop off fee however, they cancelled and changed reservation without consent and it doubled my cost and could not get anyone to talk to!! NEVER NEVER RENT AGAIN from Hertz!

Just want to say that the Hertz in Joliet IL is amazing. I rented a vehicle through them over a week ago because my vehicle went into the shop for repairs. Originally supposed to be three days for repair, now a week later still in shop. I have had to extend my rental agreement multiple times and they have always been accommodating and understanding. Thank you to the entire team at hertz Joliet

I had to use them as a rental company. They required a $500 deposit because I was using a debit card and not a credit card. Now three weeks later I still have yet to receive my deposit. I have reached out through Facebook Instagram email customer service phone calls etc. and nothing and I have not talked a single person yet. I have even contacted the corporate headquarters and still no response. Customer service is the worst you cannot speak to anyone directly.

Customer beware! First off I usually rent from another company but was traveling in an emergency and did not have reservations so I ended up picking hertz because they had no line, no wait, and go figure! I see why now! So I rented a car for 1 day. Deposit was explained, total cost of rental for the day was explained and that was reasonable. I returned car following day at 1235 which was approx 20 min over time rented. Upon renturn I was instructed to just park and leave keys in car and I was good to leave. I booked a car with Hertz in the middle of the rental car shortage. I booked it two months out. I ended up having to cancel it 35 days prior to my trip. I was charged $50 to cancel when I know full well they will turn around and rent that car without my discounts at twice the price. During Covid, most companies are allowing for cancellations without penalty but not Hertz! I tried to call and argue the fee but they were going to charge me 5% of my rental fee to speak to someone on the phone. Never again. Thank God for ****.

I would give them zero stars if possible. I rented a car at Austin Bergstrom Airport in April. The Hertz Gold Standard Clean Seal was on the car. Once inside - it was filthy, very dusty, smelled like smoke, dirt layered on the dash, stained seats. I took photos and sent them to Hertz - twice - no response. I would have left the car at the airport, but I needed a car and there weren't any others, except for large trucks. I drove to Houston, and contacted Hertz customer service on the phone. I would rate negative stars if I could! Here's my story. I have been a loyal Hertz customer for the past 9 years as it is the preferred rental car company for my organization.
