Love his bed side manners. He might seem strict at first but has you best interest at heart. He is very thorough and explains everything well.
I highly recommend Dr. Illum to any prospective cancer patient. I met Dr. Illum four years ago, not knowing what was happening in my body, just that I was very ill. Dr. Illum subsequently diagnosed me with stage three multiple myeloma and without treatment, I might have two months to live. We began treatment, and under his care, I am living a fairly normal life and have been in remission for over three years. He is what I like to refer to as a gem! In these difficult days we are living in having multiple health issues it’s near impossible to find a doctor that checks so many boxes. He is knowledgeable (in so many issues) very patient, communicates well and made me feel comfortable. I wish more doctors could be like that. Highly, highly recommend him. His staff Sally and Ashley are great.
For all visits we have been met with a staff that is pleasant and upbeat. Dr. Illum is friendly, but also gets to the point and is honest about dealing with cancer. I appreciate that honesty. He also is knowledgeable about the cancer which speaks to his experience and his willingness to do research on various types of cancer.
Dr. Illum was personable, made me very comfortable. Explained everything in very understandable terms. Made me feel like the worst was very unlikely, but possible, without setting off alarms. Professional.
Dr Illum is a caring and thorough care provider who sticks to the facts and explains circumstances in a way a patient can understand. I am fortunate to be his patient.

I was in for my yearly visit. Dr. Illum is always treats me like he sees me all the time. Very caring and compassionate. I always leave our visits with confidence that I'm in very good hands!
