Dr Illum is straight forward, to the point, thorough and caring. When you are ill, this is what you need to get back to where you started. I feel fortunate to be a patient of Dr Illum.
Went in for bone marrow sample extraction. Extraction procedure went smoothly, no excessive pain felt during insertion of extraction tool was felt because of local numbing of incision area.
Dr. Illum is kind considerate and willing to take the extra time to talk with you.
Dr. Illum is very thorough and knowledgeable. He is very personable. I am very happy that he is my oncologist!

Dr. Illum is a no nonsense, honest, compassionate person. His desire is for the best possible outcome for his patients. In his chosen field of care, this can be difficult to maintain. He took the initiative, in my case, to run additional tests and to order a series of tests over a span of time. This was a surprise to me, compared to what I was told previously by another surgeon. Dr. Illum always does a thorough examination when I visit. He reviews the bloodwork report for the blood work he requested I have done prior to my visit with him. As he does so, he explains the test results (all were in range). He did a good physical exam of me and then checked with me to see if I had any questions. He is always willing to take the time for any questions I might have and ensures I understand the answers he gives. I find him to be outgoing and caring. I always look forward to my appointments with him!
