Only takes appointments in the afternoon & is habitually an hour or more late. Actually told me, “Unless you get better insurance that’s nothing I can do for you. Treatments are expensive & you can’t afford it.” That is inexcusable for a doctor to tell a cancer patient. It’s all about money & not giving patients treatments to save their lives regardless of income.

Dr. Illum has been treating my dad for years. He does a great job at explaining your condition and your treatment plan. He has a good bedside manner and we always are seen on time. It is nice to know that my dad has such a great cancer doctor.
I have seen Dr. Illum several time and he always helpful and friendly. He explains the results of my lab work and provides options if any on my medical needs.

Lab work done in minutes, waited in lab area for over an hour before the nurse came and got me. She checked vitals and said Dr would be in shortly. Another 45 minutes went by and finally saw the Dr for about 15 minutes. Over 2 hrs start to finish. Fist time in over a year I have waited that long.

I am very pleased to have such a caring doctor. When I go in to see Dr. Illum, I feel like I can talk to him about anything on my illness. I certainly can't do that at all with my family practice doctor. He could care less about me or my concerns. In fact the last time I did go in to see my family practice Doctor. I told him it was a waist of time for me to be their. Dr. Illum is just the opposite, I take pictures of rashes, on my phone. When I have a allergic reaction, he can see what I'm dealing with. Dr. Illum always takes the time to listen to his patients and takes their concerns into consideration. I enjoy discussing my health issues with him because I feel he cares about his patients and their health. The only thing I would ask is that when a patient reaches out to him via email that he takes the time to respond to them and not have someone else respond that cannot answer the questions we have. It saves both parties from going back and forth multiple times to get an answer. But still gave him 5 Stars.
