Save $ on the tip. – With excitement, I looked forward to meeting girlfriends for a weekday breakfast date at Hell's Kitchen in Minneapolis. It was nothing but disappointing! I expected the food to be priced higher than other local breakfast joints, but felt cheated by the cold bland fare with posh prices. The raved-about rosti potatoes tasted like vinegar, although the homemade ketchup did a fine job of masking the flavor. I loved the toast and homemade jam and marmalade! It was the one bright spot. Most striking was the po... read more

Over-rated – There must me 100 better places for breakfast in the Twin Cities. Food is expensive, lines are long, and entrees are nothing special. We had Eggs Benedict - hash browns were cold, english muffin was soggy, and the meat (what was it anyway?) was uncooked. Also had the Huevos Rancheros - unappetizing mound of variably cooked food, some of it was cold, some of it was watery. We tried to give this chain the benefit of the doubt - but same poor food in Duluth, except we had to wait an hour for the food to show up. An... read more

ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! – My coworkers and I went there for a breakfast one morning. We made reservations so there was no waiting for a table which was nice. The selection of breakfast is great...lots to choose from. Our table order a ton of food and shared it so we could try everything. I had the strawberry waffle and it was absolutely AMAZING! I also got a cup of the porridge and it was different and interesting to try. The carmel roll was so good it just melts in your mouth. If you are a coffee drinker you definitely need t... read more

Great food... but if silly policies bother you like they do me... don't bother. – The food was excellent... but was it worth the hour and a half wait to get in? Only maybe. The restaurant was small (one might say "cozy") so be prepared to wait. But what cost them the two stars was the service... they have cute waitresses in pajamas, but they are less than friendly when you ask "why". What happened? When a 20-something waitress demands photo identification for age verification purposes from a gray-haired, obviously way over 2... read more

different than usual, but good – the waitstaff was actually wearing pajamas. i think i see the point and the cleverness of it - it was during sunday brunch hour and i definite associate sunday with pajamas and eggs. but anyways, there was an hour wait the previous time i went so i called ahead and put my name in there, again it was 45 minutes. so when i got there i only waited 5 minutes. they have free coffee by the door which is nice, service was nice, my meal came out really fast and it was definitely reasonably priced. i ... read more

Breakfast a fast break, Faust would partake, the hungry rake – I was visiting Minneaplolis to be with my Son and his Partner and joined them for breakfast at Hell's. I don't usually partake of morning chow back in Texas, but this place was a tasty treat. The buffalo sausage was outstanding and the various toasted breads around the table were marvy. Though pricey and crowded, the dent in dollars is not to be regretted when the fare found is fondly forked, flayed, and flavor-fixed into a frownless face!

Home-made Peanut Butter, Jam, and Ketchup!!! :D Great LOCAL place to eat. – A definite local place! The "hell" theme throughout is cute. The food is very good. It's a bit different than you typical stuff but trust me it is worth trying! I really enjoyed the Bison Benedict a couple mornings! YUM!

More mystique than reality - indifferent service, overpriced, blah – So-so. Was looking forward to it. Indifferent service. Tiny portions. Blah. Got a tiny bowl of gluey oatmeal, and even more tiny side order of fruit. Coffee was watery. Waiter never cracked a smile.
