Yowza Wow – Walked in, (remember they MOVED to 80 S 9th St) and the people next to me whispered "it's worth it no matter how long." Oh god was he ever right. Joe had the huevos rancheros and could have died happy...i tried the lemon ricotta hotcakes and they DID melt in my mouth...server said "try them first without syrup"...after one bite i never even put syrup on! Menu made me come back for more...and boy did we ever...3 times in our 4 day visit to Minneapolis. Go go go! We don't even have a place lthis good in LA!

Overpriced, bad service, surprise charges – The atmosphere is very nice. The music is good, and it's quiet enough that you can talk to the other people at your table. The service unfortunately was not good. Our server only came twice in the two hours we were there, and we were told we would have to pay a cover charge past a certain time, so we asked for our check and she mysteriously didn't come back until long after that time, so we were charged as a large group for the cover charge. When we spoke to the manager about it, t... read more

good food - bad service – I think when a restaurant is as busy as Hell's and can always pack them in regardless of bad service - they learn to not care. The food is excellent, no doubt. But, it is hard to enjoy a meal when you can't over the poor service. The 3 times I have been there the service was lousy. I was a waitress for many years, so I understand how hard a job it can be. However, all 3 times I was there, the waitstaff was rude. I understand when a place is busy, that the waitsfaff, through no fault of their own, is... read more

Delicious food, good atmosphere, prompt seating with reservation. – We just tried Hell's kitchen out today for the first time. We read on the website that it's a good idea to make a reservation so we did. We were sat right away in a room with great lighting and a fun decor. I had the fresh squeezed orange juice which was delicious! Their pancakes are a buttermilk/corn mixture and had a unique and flavorful taste. We're excited to go back and try out their lunch options. We'll definitely be back.

Make a reservation or wait 'til it freezes over! – We were so excited this morning to finally try Hell's Kitchen. We've heard about it, read about it and drooled over it for about 6 months and this Saturday morning we got our butt's out of bed early and drove from St. Paul's east side just to go to downtown Mpls' Hell. Of course there was no free parking anywhere to be found which I expected so I paid 5 bucks in the paylot knowing it was well worth it. We went on inside where there were about 5 people milling about the door ... read more

One of the best breakfasts I've ever had! – Everything is homemade and awesome. Must try the toasted sausage bread and their porridge-esque house specialty, which looks bizarre and is so different. Homemade jams are so good I bought jars to take home with me and for my family. In the 9 days I stayed in Minneapolis, I ate here 3 times. A great find!

Great new menu – This is my favorite place for breakfast. They've recently added some new items to their menu-but still kept some of my favorites (lemon-ricotta cakes, wild rice porridge). My daughter and her boyfriend are vegetarian, they had lots to choose from. Plus, their great coffee in huge cups is the best way to open your eyes on a cold, wintery morning.

Egg-cellent breakfast! – I was apprehensive to try Hell's Kitchen- I had heard that the food was all spicy and hot (hence the name "Hell's Kitchen"). I gave it a shot anyways and was pleasantly surprised! Strange menu items make it fun and interesting and the food tastes great! They have homemade peanut butter too- yummy!! There was a wait to get a table, which was fine with me, generally thats a good thing :) Overall, I have nothing but great things to say about this restaurant. If you are in downtown Minneapolis, I highly ... read more

HORRIBLE SERVICE, no, really awful – They have good appetizers and food, but the Happy Hour staff is the worst of all in Minneapolis. I've gone there a couple of times because of co-workers, but would never pick to go there. We were yelled at by one server once, they REFUSE to split bills, and mixed up our order 3 times wrong in one night. Wow. pathetic for an establishment that makes their wait staff dress in all white Chef's uniforms and aprons. The food is well priced and tastes good though, but don't tip for the service!
