While visiting New York we got the train to Washington DC and stayed at the Harrington. It is a wonderful hotel. It is a little bit tired but well worth a stay. It is in the middle of everything and within easy walking distance of The White House, The Mall, The Monument, Lincolnâ??s Memorial and Capitol Hill. It is great with a bar and restaurant at the ground floor.

The hotel is the oldest in DC. The timeline is on the lobby hallway wall. The staff is very accommodating and the hotel is still owned by the original family. The room we stayed in had two full baths. The tile and grout were very clean and looked new. Clearly the hotel renovates. Two restaurants ae on premises. We were in town for a Congressional Award ceremony and checkout was inconvenient all our bags were stored for us until late in the day. There was no charge and the attitudes were kind. The cord on the room hot water p... read more

My wife, daughter and her friend stayed 2 nights in the family suite, was very pleased and happy we chose the Harrington. The whole staff and staff of the adjoining cafe and bar were outstanding, and helpful in all our needs. The location was wonderful, within walking distance to every museum and other sightseeing area, would definitely pick there to stay in future.

I absolutely love this hotel. It's historical, affordable and you can't find a better location for seeing all the sights. We first found this gem about 20 years ago. We loved the history of it and also the proximity to the Smithsonian. On our last visit a few months ago, we realized it's gotten even better. The surrounding neighborhood used to be mostly office buildings, but now it's more residential and there's an added benefit of a ton of nearby restaurants and coffee shops to choose from. If you have a large family, there... read more

The hotel staff provided great service by holding my bag prior to the 4pm check in time. The Harrington is a great spot for a weekend trip when visiting and the goal is to utilize the Metro to get to sports around the city. No frills place to lay your head and rest up for the next day's activities. There are plenty of places to eat and drink nearby if searching for something beyond the places affiliated with the hotel. Parking is reasonable compared against parking garage fees in the vicinity. I will definitely book at Hotel... read more

Most of major attractions in DC are working walking distance and Metro stations are only a couple of blocks away. I also liked photos of the U.S. presidents of the hallway.

This 100 year old hotel in the heart of DC was great! Front desk staff was very knowledgable, elevators are fast, corner room, queen beds, flat screen tv, refrigerator, iron, ironing board, hair dryer, comfy bed, four big windows, windows open, you can hear the sounds of the city below, great view of the streets and buildings, couple blocks from White House , couple blocks from memorials. When making my reservation, Susan helped me out and answered many questions I had. She was great. I felt comfortable staying there before ... read more

This is not a sleek, hip hotel. It Is something far better--a 100-year-old historic monument in the heart of the city. Go there for the location and price; stay for the courteous and helpful staff and conveniences in the room--a bathtub, refrigerator, microwave, free internet. The beds are comfortable and the room, though clearly old and small, was clean. Make peace with not much room for your bathroom supplies, but enjoy a roomy closet with hangers. Be thrilled you are walking distance to the monuments and Smithsonians on t... read more
