I'm half PERUVIAN and have grown up eating all these delicious foods: papa a la huancaina, chicha morada, inca cola, jalea de mariscos, and alfajores all of which today I had at Happy Fish sent me down memory lane to a time when my Abuelita and mom used to make these dishes. To think this place exists in a quaint little plaza in TAMPA is a blessing. Will be back!
My mother is born and bred in Lima,Peru and her cooking is amazing. Happy fish is the only place that has cuisine that is truly authentic and the service is outstanding.
My 2nd time here with friends and family and like the first time, food was great, friendly and attentive staff...music entertainment was a plus! Definitely will be back here for more authentic Peruvian food.
Full disclosure: I'm a native Peruvian and totally biased towards Peruvian food. That being said, this place is the TRUTH! They deliver amazing authentic Peruvian fusion cuisine and the service, truly wonderful! After about a 6 month hiatus, my husband and I stopped in for dinner and had by far the best experience we've had here yet. First time here -- my daughter went to Peru and wanted to find a good Peruvian restaurant. The food was amazing and very authentic!! The service was excellent!! Definitely would recommend and can't wait to go back !!!
My husband and I have never had Peruvian food before, and this place is now one of our favorite places. We don't live in Tampa, but we'll make it a point to go here every time to fly in!
