Praise-worthy!!! – I've eaten in a lot of LAs fine restaurants, and I must say, this is the first time I actually felt like I got a pretty good deal! The skate appetizer really lived up to its hype; it truly was delectable. The scallops I had were nothing spectacular, though, and my husband's wild boar was good (not great). A Great Evening – I was recently taken by some friends to a new restaurant on Beverly Blvd. named Grace. What a great evening. From the greeting by the valet until we walked out the door everything was sublime. Although we had to wait, the hostess made certain we were looked after. FINALLY – Well, it's about time. An honest-to-goodness, pay for what you get restaurant in Los Angeles with a hopping vibe and without any pretentiousness whatsoever. Absolutely Amazing. – This dinner was one of the best I've had in months. The service is perfect, the ambieance is comfortable and lively yet with a feeling of privacy. Our waitor was the best waitor I have ever had in my life: extremely nice, well informed, and a pleasure to work with. The food was prepared perfectly and felt extremely good afterwards. The price doesn't matter, you don't go there to expect a cheap meal, but it is in all aspects worth it. Valet parking is cheap too, so no worries there.
Good but not great – The restaurant is beautiful and the ambience is great. Food-wise, the menu has a lot of meat dishes, only a couple of choices for vegetarian dishes. I had the risotto, which was pretty good. The service was ok...I've had better. If you want to see Hollywood stars, this is a good place to go. Anne Heche was there when we went. I would go back to this place, but it wouldn't be a top choice.
A delight – The only negative points in our visit to Grace came right at the start. We had a 6:00 reservation, but they made us wait on the sidewalk until exactly 6:00! Then they tried to seat us right next to one of the only other full tables! The hostess is a ditz. Everything after that was just great. Courteous, excellent service. Very interesting wine list with excellent prices! That's going to bring me back all by itself. The food was very good. The skate appetizer was a dream. Great ambience.
Loved It! – This place had great food, great service and a great ambience. Our waiter was very attentive and the food was excellent. I will definitely go back again, a very classy and hip venue.
a new place in town – modern dishes,portion is not for hungry people...good idea of so called New American Food...but still not doing a very good job of mixing multi-culture food together...DO NOT ORDER FOIE GRAS cuz that extremely sour sauce is totally spoil it...cool,very nice and creative design for that little space,the crowd are late 20s (not many) and more late 30s and early 40s... no outdoor sitting for smoking people
Grace will be Great – I dined at Grace several weeks ago, and although the service was not impeccable and a couple dishes were not to my particular liking, this restaurant has great promise! The decor is simply lovely - warm, with a rustic elegance. I started with the squash soup which was delicious. My boyfriend had the wild boar, which I did not care for, but he ate everything on his plate (hmm)! I think that once Grace gets going, it will be great.
