Love my yoga mat!!! Just wish it hasn't have come to me smelling like a bag of chemicals!!!

Hi Courtney, so sorry about that smell! There are several things you can do to expedite getting rid of it. Please leave your mat unrolled to air out, although do not leave it in direct sunlight. Also, you can wipe your mat down with a vinegar/water solution or even witch-hazel/water solutions. Please do not use any products with alcohol or bleach in them. I hope that helps!

My previous Gaiam yoga mat lasted for years and years. My current one? Getting worn at only 2 years. The new one I bought (exactly like my current one) smelled so incredibly toxic that I had to return it. I mean, seriously, what are you guys using to make these things now? None of my other mats have ever had a smell this strong! I'm not talking about a simple "new" smell, I am talking about a seriously toxic chemical smell! It stunk up the whole house! Lisa, Thank you so much for providing your feedback on your mat and we are so sorry to hear you have experienced that! Although we have not changed the PVC material of the mat, the ink used during the production process can cause a strong smell to occur. The ink we use is non toxic and during the manufacturing process, we ask that the manufacturers allow for airing time. I bought a classic ball chair which I love. It had faulty construction and within 1hr after sending an email letting Gaiam know the issue they placed an order for replacement for free. The best customer service I have ever received. Thank you so much.!!!!!!!! :)
I bought the beginners Yoga kit and the DVDs don't work....kind of pointless without them. Disappointed don't even know who to call for exchange in Canada.
... I teach Kripalu Yoga, I have just opened a new Gaiam premium Yoga Mat and its absolutely loaded in chemicals and terrible chemical smell, the mat says full size "BREATHE" paradoxically. if the maker knew Yoga they would know that that is a money making scam and not a Yoga mat where we want to bring health through breathing on our mat and connecting to spirit with nature.... this is a chemical poison smell that ruined the vibe in the room Gaiam would like to make it up to me?
