New pie connessuier – It's good. Very good. Well-made Chicago-style crust (though you can take your pick) with generous, fresh toppings (and they don't overdo the garlic, either). But why trust me? I'm not a native northwestern pizza aficionada like everyone else seems to be here. Not the best pizza I've ever had in my whole entire life (that title goes to a little joint in NY on Spring Street...don't get me started about that, though. Mm mm.). Still, there are lots of quality pizza places to be found in Portland, and this i... read more
Best pizza in portland/vancouver area!! – My family has been loyal Flying Pie Pizzeria customers for almost 18 years. They have the best pizza in town! The food is great. Great value for your money, high quality ingredients, and always great service. Their location in Gresham is great...they have the nicest employees and usually shorter wait time then Stark St location!!
Where do YOU live? – Ok everyone complaining about parking, where do you go in downtown Portland anymore that has "AWESOME" parking? Deal with it. This place has a 20 year reputation that stands up to any you can compare it to. Excellent quality ingredients, fun quirky atmosphere, value for your money, and the best pizza I've found in 20 years of travelling looking for a good pie. If you come to any of their locations looking for a pasteurized, mechanical, finely diced, thin little weight watcher pizza that is ready in 19 se... read more
Grease, grease and more grease – The pizza I got from Flying PIe was so greasy and soggy that I couldn't eat it. It literally dripped with grease over the sides and all over the bottom, making it most unappetising. UGH
Best Pizza ever since the 80's – We ate at the Flying Pie when I was in college in Portland in the 80's. I compare every other pizza to it and none have met the bar. I look forward to eating there whenever we go are in town!
Best Pizza I've ever had – A friend at work told me about Flying Pie Pizza, but I had to go there to believe him . . . My wife doesn't like pizza, and might take a slice once or twice a year, but since I took her to Flying Pie Pizza, she's become a pizza lover. Hey guys, how about opening one over here in God's Country (Vancouver, WA) so I don't have to drive over to Portland for my pizza.
Not Worth It – Despite the glowing reviews on this site, we just don't get it. The pizza is fine. It's OK, but nothing to write home about. We can appreciate basic pizzeria decor, but the 30 year old furnishings needed updating. We've had much better pizza and pizzeria dining in our life. We're off to find something new...
It's fine, it's OK – Not sure of reason for the other glowing ratings. I mean, the pizza's good, it's OK. Nothing to write home about. Perhaps the other raters have never experienced true Chicago deep dish or New York thin crust. Good selection of microbrews on tap, and the place isn't expensive. But there is better pizza out there.
My Favorite – I used to live in Oregon and considered Flying Pie Pizza the most unique pizza place I have ever visited. I now live in Bangkok, which is not known for pizza and find myself wishing for a Flying Pie pizza every once in a while. A large pizza here would be barely a medium pizza in the US. Sure, there are some negatives about Flying Pie, but if you ever move away from Portland, it will be the pizza you'll remember and miss the most.
Flying Pie Pizzeria has a 4.6 star rating with 2,009 reviews.
