Awesome! – Can pizza possibly get any better? Can ambiance get any better? No. However, can service get any slower? Can parking get any worse? No. Advice- call ahead and show up about 30 minutes later for your next 30 minutes of wait. But, hey, it's worth it.
Yummy Za – I love pizza, all kinds, but Flying Pie is hands down the best- it is expensive, but this is one case where you truly get what you paid for, tons of toppings, a great crust (our car still smells like garlic the morning after a 10 minute ride home with a take out order) Parking Sucks, and the atmosphere is funky and fun.
One of the better – Oasis and Vincentes win this category, but Flying Pie is a good alternative. We ordered the combo which was a meat overload. Their Chicago crust was a bit disappointing as the thickness wasn't all that deep dish like. Nevertheless, we'd go back even though prices are high and service is bland and slow.
Maybe the best overall – Out of the many pizza place I have tried so far this place has the best pizza. Atmosphere is nothing neat, parking is poor, prices are O.K., but the pizza is excellent! Lots of choices and styles of pizza. If there was one weakness - maybe too many toppings served on the pizza???
Too Salty – Had one close to our home but gave up on it. Long lines, High prices plus it always seemed very salty. Friendly employees though and I am sure they use quality ingredients
If you like your pizza wet... – this is the place for you. We ordered it with three toppings and the pizza literally weighed around 5 lbs. Some of you may like that, and that's fine, but if you do you had better also like your toppings uncooked and your crust soggy. They put so many toppings on that it's just annoying to eat and, like I said, they don't get cooked through. The pizza was completely inedible and we chucked it and ate something else.
aaawsome!!!! – The pizza is the best but you can't eat alot like most thin crust pizza, a little on the spendy side.
Great Pizza Pie – I had one of the best pizza's ever at the Flying Pie and staff is very friendly.
Best Pizza in Portland. Period. – This place has the best pizza around. I have taken people from New York there to eat and they have commented on how great it was. They wish it was this good there. Other pizza places have to "stuff" the ballot box to win "Best Pizza". Flying Pie relies on it's pizzas to do the talking. I have always gotten a good pie with lots of toppings. The prices are also very good.
