My mom got a credit card offer in the mail from First Premier Bank. I read it over, and I can't believe this is even legal. It's definitely predatory lending! Card offers $700 credit limit, no rewards. 36% APR with a $79 annual fee AND an $8 monthly fee, which increases to $12 after the first year. If you are eligible and approved for a credit limit increase, a fee equal to 25% if the increased amount will be charged. I don't care how bad your credit is. This is the worst credit card offer I've ever seen.

I have had to close this account twice. Once in August 2018 and again in October 2018 which included 2 month's of fees. Crooked as the day is long. They served their purpose years ago when I needed them, but the refusal to waive the monthly fees after all those years and the insufferable 36% interest, was more than I could tolerate any longer. If I could get 0 stars I would. I had a 750.00 fraud charged on my account from a ******** store and a 10.00 charge from *************. This was back in March of this year. The account has been closed but they are still telling me I owe this money which I do not. The customer Service person Patty told me that they won't do anything until I send them a copy of my Social Security card. Avoid this "company" (racketeering operation is probably a more accurate description) at all costs. I guarantee they will not build your credit with the exorbitant annual/monthly fees and interest rates. I first opened a credit account with First Premier in 2008, attempting to build credit as a young adult. I closed the account in 2014, in going through my credit report I saw multiple late payments and it all came back to me. The scam that was First Premier, all the fees, all the charges, being unable to make automatic payments or payments online without jumping through hoops. I rarely used the card, would pay it off and then have so many fees, nonstop calls saying I owe them various amounts and am late paying. Late paying?!... read more

I cancelled two credit cards with this bank. The next day, (today), they applied a monthly service charge which was not mentioned in the cancellation phone call. I verified the balances were paid, and at zero, with no payments owing.
I had a meeting last night with Sandy ********** from the Trust department to discuss the Trust I have that she handles. She is AWESOME!! She explained to my husband and I where we were at with our investment and what we should do so that we completely understood everything!! She also handles my brother's Trust and pays his bills, makes sure he has income to live on and reviews everything for him. After a LONG drawn out conversation, where the customer service rep did everything to try to talk me out of closing my account that had been inactive for months except for the monthly fees that I got tired of paying, he finally confirmed it was closed. NOW I received another bill for a charge that was apparently made on my account the same day it was closed.
