Treat in New York – Every year I come to New York because I love the city. Due to the fact that I only come for five days I always make time to check in to Dorit Baxter Day Spa for an hour and a half massage and oxygen facial. I found the treatments extremely helpful to my jetlag. The pampering energized me and keeps me going. The spa is always spotless clean and the staff are very welcoming. Highly recommended!!!
one of the top day Spa in Manhattan – I am using Dorit day spa in a regular basis . for the past 15 years. I always get there my facial and get skin products. I enjoyed being there , it relaxed me. I love the people who take care od me they are friendly and also very professional. You will have to hear how people are complementing me on my look after I get out of Dorit Spa. they say like : You look 10 years younger. Don't go near that place - read before you even make an appointment! – My wonderful husband and 3 daughters gave me a special gift for Dorit Baxter day spa, for a full day of pampering. The first thing I faced was the ?manager?. A grumpy old woman who didn?t even look up her computer screen to greet me. After a quick, good morning, I kindly asked if I could please have a pedicure instead of a facial that was on my gift certificate. That got her to look up! Treatment Didn't Work – I went with a friend to have the slimming mummy wrap. While it was a pleasant experience it did not do what was promised. The woman wrapping us said that we would lose 2 inches and I personally lost nothing. It was a small spa without any extras that i could see. I would not go back.
Improvement in Customer Service. – Great Scrubs, Great Massages They seemed to have worked on the customer service issue so it seems to be much better.
Awkward... – My boyfriend and I went in for a couples massage. The place was not relaxing at all. It was very crowded and we sat in a hallway listening to all the hustle and bustle for a half hour waiting to change. It was a very narrow hallway and it was very awkward to be sitting there for so long. Finally we changed into our robes and slippers in the weird changing rooms into cotton robes because they ran out of their signature terry cloth. Worst Spa in NY! – This is hands down the worst spa experience I have ever had. The facility borders on unsanitary, the customer service is horrendous and the treatments (I got a facial, massage and body scrub) were mediocre at best - with the exception of the facial which was almost a joke. Spa Week 2006 – I went here during Spa week 2006 to get a facial . Of course the prices were very reasonable during spa week but the service was average or a little below. The location is great, midtown but the spa itself is not very big and not very cosy. As soon as I arrived I was told to go change in a ( very tiny ) locker room.
