I love Dorit Baxter Day Spa! – I started going to Dorit Baxter Day Spa about 3 months ago for my waxing and have been going there ever since. All of my waxing is ONLY done there. Recently, I have been getting massages and they are wonderful, excellent and relaxing! I will definiely go back for all my massages. I was in heaven! The staff is friendly and professional. They know what they're doing and perform very well. I look forward to going back!
Worst Spa Ever!! – I attended the "spa" as part of a 12 person bachelorette party - the workers assured us that we would have the place to ourselves. From the moment we entered, with our warranted enthusiasm, the women behind the counter were shushing and reprimanding us. Throughout our time there, we received non-stop dirty looks, eye rolls and "shhhhhh's." Straight to heaven – On my visit to New York I went to DORIT BAXTER SPA and experienced the hot stones massage. I recommend it to everyone after a long flight, it was just what the doctor ordered... The spa is conveniently located in the heart of the city and the atmosphere was relaxing and professional.
Don't bother – I was there 2 weeks ago and all I can tell you is - Do not bother getting a bikini & leg wax there - first of all they did not do a complete job. Customer service - terrible - the management was not friendly AT ALL and most of all seemed very unorganized and confused. I was asked to wait in a very tiny waiting room - which was more like a hall way across the bathroom. I waited approx 30 minutes. Honestly, it was not worth the money.
Fabulous Facial – Being a man and going to the spa for a facial can be a little wierd sometimes, but Dorit Baxter Spa mad me feel comfortable and gave me an amazing facial at a very good price. They really took the time to analyze my skin and design a treatment that was appropriate for me. I even left there without all of the redness and swelling that some places leave you with for days. Great experience! – I went in to Dorit Baxter for an aromatherapy massage and manicure. The staff was great! Even when I was making my appt. the receptionist wanted to make sure that I didn't have a wait between treatments. The manicure was average. I had a gift certificate, but I couldn't see myself going there just for manicures. The manicurist didn't say a word to me which was a littel awkward. The massage was excellent!!! Thank God some things don't change! – Twenty-seven years ago Dorit suggested that I give my face a glorious treat -- a facial. Each season since then I have made an appointment for my "treat" at Dorit Baxter's. Fantastic Facial!!! – My friend recently surprised me with a gift certificate to Dorit Baxter Spa. My skin tends to be problematic and sensitive to just about everything. I was a little nervous to have another facial because I have been to many spas in the past and have tried various treatments to battle my acne. The esthetician took her time to analyze my skin and customized the treatment for my facial needs. She was very gentle and thorough and also gave me great tips to take care of my skin at home. Awful - Go elsewhere! – What a RIPOFF. When I called to book the appt - with a credit card - I was informed their policy is No Cancellations. They even have a No Refunds small sign at reception. For the $69 facial, it was basically just a massage and steam with a little cleanser thrown in. No scrub, no masks of any kind. The facialist was very rough with the extraction even though I told her to take it easy. She also did not do a thorough job, I am booking another facial this week at a different spa. I will never go back.
