Exeter Finance was the only company that got me approved for a car. Though my interest rate was high (27%).. I was happy. When Covid hit, I lost my job. I asked them to push back 3 of my payments to end of term and they agreed. Other then those situations, I had good payment history for the 2 years I owned the vehicle. i have been dealing with exeter since 2018, they only reported 6 payments on my credit report when i made 14 total...and they had the nerve to but a installment hardship loan on my credit report on 3/24/2021 without my consent... i will have them in court.

My Insurance and myself payed off the loan it shows $0 but keeps saying I owe money how idiotic can a finance company be next step is hiring a lawyer

This is the worst auto loan experience I've ever had they don't want you to pay off your loan because then they won't make any money I tried to make two payments towards my principal and they lied to me saying yes it was all going to go to principal and then come to find out they only put part of it to the principals even after they told me it would be going to the principle of the loan after I had already been current on my payments if I were you and a car company offered Exater finance as a loan company I would turn it dow... read more

The interest is so high its felt impossible a lot of times to pay off such a large amount for a used car, but it was my only option credit-wise at the time. Now, the payoff amount is atleast $1000 higher than what I owe. This company traps people with poor credit who are trying to improve it. If someone has low credit, expecting them to pay $600 a month on a lower income (at the time) doesn't seem realistic.

Since the very first payment it has been nothing but a headache. We did automatic payments from our bank account and every month Exter would send them back into our bank account and we would resend payment to them. They charged us $120 for 3 months of late fees which we were never late it was automatically taken out of our account, but they sent it back. I was asked an inappropriate question by customer service today. On today Friday March 5, 2021 a customer service rep from Exeter finance called me to discuss my car payments (I do not remember her name but please do your research as a company, Exeter, and if you guys are truly about serving and customer service, do find out who it is and deal with her accordingly. I am a single parent mother who has had some hardships through the years but for the most part I have paid my loan on time every month. There was a year that I had to take custody of my sister's children, working two jobs and taking care of my mother as well so that year was tough. I have been paying my car which I got 5 months ago. My payments always on time and over monthly amount owed. Well my loan total pay off amount, is now more than what I originally got the loan for. I can't trade car in NO dealership is even willing to work with me now, because it looks like I am not paying my car loan.
