This is regarding the hillcrest park apartments in Newbury Park, California. An Essex Property Management company Problems are all over. Let's begin with parking issues, trash overflowing, Dirty laundry rooms, giant cockroaches by the pool and in the apartment, old outdated windows. Seems like some tenants are living with more than the allowed amount of tenants. I could continue with more issues but for my own mental health, I will stop here.......

I’ve lived here for almost a year now and it is one of the worst apartment complexes I’ve ever been at. Management is so rude and not helpful at all. When I asked for the corporate phone number Carrie at the front office told me “well you can just look that up” then gave me a fake phone number. The maintenance man ignores emails, the security officer who’s supposed to be protecting the community will forward the calls to voicemail. The living conditions are unsafe. This is regards to MB360 property in San Francisco. During the beginning stages of COVID, i had to vacate the apartment to take care of my family and needed to term my lease without penalty as per the CA government mandate. The closing out statement was sent in which I questioned the charges - the team at MB360 said they would find out if they can waive a portion of the fees. This review is regarding Hillsdale Garden Apartments, an Essex Property, in San Mateo, CA. The people in the management office are not equipped to handle the situations going on in this community. My family and Iived in a townhome here for 7 years until earlier this year. In the last few years, there have been egregious faults by neighbors VS the lease. This review is regarding one of the Essex Properties located in Emeryville, CA (EMME apartments, **** ******** **** *********** ** *****). We had multiple issues with this property: 1) Fire alarms - We had a lease for 12 months and we had to evacuate the building at least once a month due to the fire alarm and the majority of them were in the middle of the night. I was 100% taken care of Yvonne and Jose after requesting a few unique details in regards to the leasing terms. I could not recommend more highly. I disagree with the negative reviews below, but am very blessed and grateful for this staff! - Andrew

While living there, rats shewed my car windshield wiper cord costing me $195. I constantly found dead rats around the property. I complained to the leasing office and they blamed the rats on the city creek which is on one side of the property. I was gone out of town on for 2 1/2 weeks and came back to a rat infestation in my apartment, ruining my mattress, pillows, all the beddings stuff, my couch, loveseat and decorative pillows. Literally one of the worst experiences of my life. Not only are their apartments unlivable and filthy but the service is atrocious as well. I went on a Friday night to view the unit offered. I was told by Edith, she "didn't have time to show me the unit." I was told I had to pay over $2000 to view it myself and if I didn't like it, I could transfer or get a refund. Complete nightmare! I am writing to express my disappointment and my stress regarding the current rental position that this property management company has put me into. I have rented in this apartment complex for more than 3 years because my work was very close to this property.
