This Spring a catastrophic event which was recently declared a natural disaster damaged our siding, gutters and roof. We have had multiple roofing professionals UNANIMOUSLY cite the roof as needing to be replaced, one of which was recommended by our agent as someone's opinion he valued. Horrible experience. I obtained a quote from Bill Pullano a Glenview State Farm agent. State Farm insurance was the best value (I thought). I went through an exhaustive home reconstruction work sheet survey with Mr. Pullano and obtained a printed copy of that worksheet. I check the worksheet and it was correct in every detail. I was traveling to work and was sideswiped by a State Farm policyholder. Initially, I thought I was at fault, and accepted responsibility on scene, but the CHP incident report stated that the State Farm policyholder is at fault. My insurance company has been trying to talk to State Farm, but State Farm has not spoken to their insured and is still investigating coverage. I spoke with a claims specialist, Shirley, over the phone today regarding an accident my wife was involved in. She was extremely rude and unprofessional. She was constantly talking down to us and made my wife cry. Business aside, no one should be treated, especially a customer, the way we were treated. Don’t do business with State Farm; there are other companies that will treat you with respect. I am shocked State Farm would employ a person like this.
Management's response to complaints ended up in something worse. An individual in management called me about the complaints twice at 12:59 p.m. MST Aug. 6 (and again, twice, just 57 minutes later -- that's rather harassing). A poor associate emailed me about sending my insurance payout via snail mail even though I took the time to set up my profile on StateFarm.com weeks earlier to have the payout be sent electronically to my bank. I researched for a better price for homeowners and auto insurance. State Farm quoted me with a significant price difference than current insurance company. After I paid and switched to State Farm, a State Farm assessor visited my home and reassessed the replacement cost at a higher cost than originally stated. I asked Thursday afternoon for proof of payment -- and they hung up. Yet, I called again. Then they hung up -- again. They also are beyond incompetent -- two different people could not spell my email address correctly. And I had told it to each of them twice.
A State Farm representative admitted that State Farm had failed in not calling me back, meaning that I was using rental car service days for no reason. I needed those because I need the rental car until I can get an insurance payout in order to buy a new car. Yet, the representative was not willing to help in being able to arrange other rental days for the car.
