Discovered the hard way that Epson does not care one bit about their customers and their ability to use their products. I let our printer update firmware this week and when it was done, it suddenly didn't recognize the printer cartridges it had been using for weeks. Apparently Epson doesn't like you to use anything other than the latest version of their proprietary brand of cartridges. I sincerely hope a class action lawsuit is brought against this company for this illegal activity (as the court determined when HP tried to pull the same firmware scam: https://topclassactions.com/lawsuit-settlements/closed-settlements/XXXXXX-hp-officejet-printer-firmware-class-action-settlement/). Rendering the printers useless unless their high-priced brand cartridges are used, with no notification to customers, is abhorrent.
Readyprint service is a scam. No grace period to back out of subscription. Charged $200.00 to cancel. No customer service availability. Called 4 different times on hold 30 min. And never got anyone to answer call! Cheap printers for subscribers no useful at all! Don't fall for crappy deal!!
Horrid customer service! Epson printer won't connect to any devices to print. We have several different types, Apple, Android, Dell, HP etc., and none connect. From the reviews on the app store, we aren't the only ones having this issue. Then, I call the "customer service" number and was told the I'd get a call in 24 hours. Of course, this never happened. Had my Epson printer for YEARS and had ZERO issues. Just the other day, it autoupdated the firmware and all of a sudden my ink (which was not from Epson) was not valid. I contacted support and they said I had to use Epson ink. I can't even use my printer just as a scanner. It requires Epson ink (which is extremely overpriced by the way). SELFISH company.
Epson is the worst. i bought a brand new printer from Staples the Epson Workforce WF-7720 when COVID started and I was sent home to work. Now just 6 months later the gears that feed the paper through when printing broke. Blocks using non Epson ink. Don't buy from them unless you want to be locked into paying higher prices.
I ordered a couple ink cart. and paper on 9/20/20 and its not been shipped and is still in processing mode as of today 9/23/20. I have sent several messages and a couple calls to Epson to cancel the order only to be put on hold until they can contact the warehouse. My first call was yesterday asking for a cancelation and of as today the warehouse has not responded. The package has not been labeled as of yet so has not been shipped. Worst service ever from any company - was recommended by a friend after years of happiness with products and service from all other printer companies Will never buy another Epson product. If you request to speak with their supervisor after rude treatment they say hold on and disconnect you ever time. Epson printer updates do nothing but disable their printers to force you to buy Epson ink cartridges at double the price of non Epson cartridges. I will never buy Epson again and as soon as I buy one set of E cartridges to restore my printer, will never update again.
