One of the MUST DOs in Texas. The whole Hill Country region has so much to offer...vineyards, wineries, tons of craft and antique malls, awesome food, PEACHES, and this beautiful parkland. Hike the summit trail for spectacular views, or the Base trail for a less strenuous walk around the bottom. Feeling adventurous? Find your way from the Summit to the unique rock formations across the two domes to the west.
So beautiful & serene! The hike was amazing & well worth the view at the top! Definitely plan to go back.
The park is amazing. The staff however is terrible. Paying with card I went inside and was charged for 4 people when it was just 2. The person at the counter offered no solution to this. Outside you got some idiot yelling at you for your sticker. I may never come back to this place solely on this first visit.

Great park but be prepared for ants in the backcountry camping areas. Hang your food and you should be ok.

Love this place.. Its a bit of a drive (came fro Galveston), but totally worth it. One of the best views Texas is from the peak. We'll definitely be coming back
First time to visit the park and it was closed! I didn't know the park closed often. Was very dissatisfied of course, but I enjoyed Fredericksburg as a back up plan. I will go back after I browse the parks web site .
This was something that I have been wanting to do for quite some time. My boyfriend and I took a drive out there this past Saturday, October, 22nd, 2016. It was about an hour to hour and a half drive for us. We were coming from Converse and also made one or two stops along the way. When we initially got there around noon we were told they were at capacity and that they would reopen at one.
