Stretched along the meandering Ranch Road 965, the Enchanted Rock and its natural areas are set atop the Llano Uplift, offering a wide range of panoramic views of Llano and Gillespie county's virtually-untouched countryside. The park gets its name from a stunning rock formation made of pink granite that is revered by the native tribes of Comanche, Apache, and Tonkawa. Boasting around 500 types of plants and animals including bats, lizards, squirrels, foxes and rare birds, the park is naturally a favorite among naturalists an... read more

We called all morning long to no avail. no one answered the phone. Being that it is a state park we drove all the way there hoping someone would be able to provide information and work with us considering their phone system isn't working or someone is simply not answering the phone. Once arriving the ladies working there were rude, unhelpful, and spoke over us. They refused to accept that they had not been answering the phone and instead said it was our fault for not knowing to make reservations ahead of time. A simple answe... read more
We visited on 4/20/20. The staff was great, We were greeted at the entrance by a very friendly and helpful person. We had the pleasure of meeting the park rangers and the staff during the day. These people were very professional and helpful throughout the journey and a big thank you to all,
Great time for family for family and friends to go Some hiking and climbing. Beautiful place. Can get bust quickly. Lots of family fun for theb school children.
Awesome place to spend the day. One of the nicest state parks within a couple hours of Austin. The hikes are great for my 3.5 year old and 5 year old. Beware: the bathrooms at the entrance parking were out of order both times that we've visited. They only had port a pottys🤢.
If you like nature and hiking, then it doesn’t get better than this. It’s stunning beauty captivated me. I just wish I had been more prepared and had more time. Ideally, you’d want a few days to camp but a day of hiking is also possible. Just be careful. There are a lot of trails that aren’t exactly easy and if you rush, you could end up injured. Patience is key. Just take the time to soak it all in. $8 entrance fee and best to either get there right when they open at 8AM or reserve online. The park fills up quick and they w... read more
My family and I drove almost two hours to come and find out we have to make a reservation to hike!! This is the THIRD TIME this has happen that we we’re not able to hime!! There is so much room to hike but because lack of space for parking is the issue! Fix that problem this is Texas there is plenty of room to park on the side or make room! Waste of time and rediculous if you ask me!!!
Loved our visit this past weekend! Made my reservation a week in advance got there about 20 mins before my spot getting in closed and we were only in line 3 mins tops. The hike was nice and looked like the porta pottys are well kept since the bathrooms were closed. I will definitly be coming back!
peace and beauty great hiking spot and night sky
