People of color BEWARE. In short: we got harassed by park rangers. If you’re a minority, be extra precautious when visiting this state park. Follow all the rules to the tee and I would advise to just go in for the day and leave asap. We got the vibe that our kind is not welcome here. Our camping site got extra attention by two rangers because of having hammocks. Two white rangers approached us (we were two Hispanic couples in our forties). The reservation thing is unfortunate, but a lot is unfortunate right now. Super friendly staff as well. I’ll be going back soon.
Enchanted Rock State Park. Must make RESERVATIONS ..none unvailable until maybe MONDAY & they recommend making reservations 2 weeks out DUE TO COVID. Reservations for a STATE PARK?! So upsetting. Everything about Covid has made sense until now.
You cannot fathom the magnitude of this amazing place unless you go see it. Photo's don't do it justice, you have to go!

The vernal pools on top of EnchantedRock. These small micro ecosystems provide the needs for Wildlife.
We Don’t even bother with it anymore. I’d bet they turn more away than they let in. Out of the last 6 times we’ve tried to get into the park only one was successful. We used to drive all morning to catch sun up and “get n line” but it’s now all on reservations. We just watched 7 cars get turned away. Micromanage much ...?
It’s a fun unique place. One of a kind! A favorite go to place with friends and family of all ages. The hike to the top can literally take your breath away so take your time but it’s worth it! — with Daniel Phillips.
