We came home to find one of our dachshunds with a swollen snout. In a panic state, I called our vet, Queen Anne Animal clinic. Since it was after hours, they referred us here. The staff was friendly, attentive and 45 mins later, we were on our way home. If ever an emergency arises, we will be there again. Fingers crossed we wont have to be though :)
Pet emergencies are scary and expensive, and it's hard to shop around for the best prices and service in a time of crisis. I do think Emerald City is on the expensive side, but I also think they are competent and trustworthy, and I would definitely refer others there, should the need arise
My 20 year old cat had suffered a stroke the night before, and he was in bad shape. I was a wreck with grief, and we had no choice but to do the right thing and let him go in peace. The staff treated us with respect, and gave us all the time we needed to be with him at the end. They took just the right tone and made a very difficult event much easier on us. I hope that you never have to use their services, but if you do, I highly recommend them.
The day I lost my best friend and personal assistant Brutto was the absolute worst day of my life. I credit Emerald City Emergency Clinic for not only being open during the snowstorm, but also the patience and understanding and sympathy of everyone who works there. When I went in to pick up his ashes and paw print a few days later, the vet assistant made a point to tell me how sorry they were for my loss. Thank you for helping me say goodbye to my wonderful boy. I'll never forget him, and I'll never forget your kindness in h... read more
This place gets all five stars from me. If you're looking for a 24 hour vet emergency hospital, this is the place. In regards to the reviewers below complaining about the expensive prices, well, WHAT DO YOU EXPECT FROM AN EMERGENCY CLINIC? This is not the place to take your animal if s/he is just having a routine check-up. This is a place people turn to when they are in a panic and need emergency care for their beloved pets. My cat ate oriental lilies that were sitting around in a vase and couldn't stop vomiting. I found out... read more
These guys were super helpful! When another area vet sent me off to the ASPCA phone number to help with poison control, I was discouraged. The ASPCA charges $65 for a consultation, and not that my kitty isn't worth it, but I was pretty sure he was fine, just double checking! So I called these guys and they were QUICK and HELPFUL and SUPER NICE! Nice to know my little guy is going to be okay; just an upset tummy! :)
When my 2-year old kitty got hit by a car, I called the vet and was referred to ECEC since it was 9pm. Everyone there was professional, attentive and kind. The staff member who checked me in was efficient, immediately saw that my cat was hurting and whisked her off to get pain meds. The vet (Dr. Sands) was very good at explaining what was happening at each step. I had to decide about doing surgery, she was clear about options, costs, and chances of survival, and gave me space to make the best decision. When the vet broke the... read more
When my daughter called me at work, – I was very pleased with the treatment my dog received here. He had injured a leg and couldn't put weight on it and I was in a panic. I had brought a dog here many years ago after hours and remembered that they were emergency. I called them, they said no appt, needed during day, come on in. They proceeded to take great care of my dog in a very tender and loving way and also helped keep me relaxed and answered all my questions. when you need a vet right away, when you have an emergency, th... read more
I took my 6 month Corgi here in the middle of the night because she seemed to be having an allergic reaction in her eyes (she was also spayed the same morning at my regular vet, so I was being extra cautious). The staff was very friendly AND they didn't end up charging me anything because it turned out that my puppy wasn't having an allergic reaction after all. They normally have a $60 flat rate examinations, but they were kind enough to waive this for me.
