We came home to find one of our dachshunds with a swollen snout. In a panic state, I called our vet, Queen Anne Animal clinic. Since it was after hours, they referred us here. The staff was friendly, attentive and 45 mins later, we were on our way home. If ever an emergency arises, we will be there again. Fingers crossed we wont have to be though :)

We brought our 15 year old girl (Queensland Heeler Mix) to Emerald City with the knowledge that it would most likely be her first and last visit. The short review is that the staff was incredibly kind and the vet was amazing through the whole process. If you want more detail, read on.When we got to the clinic my husband and I were allowed to carry our girl to the back room for weighing and to the examining table where they set here up immediately with oxygen to ease her breathing. We were also able to stay with her while vet... read more

I was reading reviews on a couple of emergency vets because we needed to find something for our sick dog early this morning. I actually took our cat, Jimmy, to EC a couple of months ago and found quite the opposite experience as some of the negative posters so I was surprised and I felt the need to respond. Of course, I really think a vet is like any other business, it can depend on the day or the staff at the time, but we had a very positive experience. First, we had no choice at the time: our cat was at the Cat Clinic down... read more

Not sure a lot of these reviews understand how emergency vets work. They're for emergencies. Of course they're going to be expensive... Emergencies aren't cheap. They're open 24/7 for when your cat decides water is overrated and dehydrates himself until his pee becomes solid and obstructs his urethra on a Saturday night. Okay, anyway, my cat received fantastic care here. Yes it was crazy expensive, but they told me it would be... The end cost ended up right within the price range they presented me with when I signed the cons... read more

The vet I saw here for my dogs facial swelling was soooo great. They were very through and reassuring. He ended up needing a tooth extraction, which we went somewhere else for. But what this vet prescribed for gizmo helped him be comfortable until his extraction. I'm happy to have a place I trust close to home in case of emergencies.

A few weeks ago, my beloved husky punctured my asthma inhaler. At first I thought he just chewed on it and was fine. But hours later, I found him lying down having violent muscle tremors -- he couldn't even stand up. In my complete panic, my boyfriend helped me rush him to Emerald City at ~11PM. He'd taken my little dog there for an eye injry and said they were fantastic. He was right. Unsurprisingly, they'd never had a case where a dog overdosed on asthma medication. But they snapped to action by getting info from Animal Po... read more

I lost my best friend on Thursday night. We came back from a nice dinner at Cactus and Cosmo didn't come downstairs to greet us. We thought it was a little odd but his hips have been giving him a hard time and at 13 he's slowed down a bit. We came up and found him in the bathroom just staring at the toilet. When my wife bumped into him he fell over and I got that sinking feeling. A few seconds later we got him to stand up but then he pooped all over the floor. We called Emerald City and got him in the car but we were pretty ... read more

We had a good experience at ECEC with our dog (well, as good of an experience you can have when you are super worried about your dog). About 11pm on a week night I was just getting ready to fall asleep when our dog had some sort of weird siezure like thing. My husband and I panicked and we were in the car to the closest emergency clinic. I was a little nervous to let the staff take my dog off into a backroom but could deal with it since I assumed they were professionals. We waited for a long time. The vet (a very, very nice ... read more

We were a little nervous to go here because we'd seen some bad reviews on Yelp, but we had an emergency situation (when they say dogs should not eat chocolate, they really mean it!) and decided to try Emerald City because it was closest to our house. I was very pleased with the professionalism, care, and communication of all the staff, including the vet (Dr. Johnston). He knew just what to do, talked us through each step of decision making, and stayed in close communication with us the whole time our dog was there.
