My little 1 year old pit mix ate something she is not supposed to. We had gone and gotten quotes from two vets, called around for the best rate. My boyfriend came across this place, all of the other vet offices were trying to charge us 3,000-5,000 up front for the intrusive exploratory surgery of her intestine to get the "toy/sock" she ate that wouldn't come out. This place was wonderful, worked with our financial needs, so my Ellie could get the surgery she needed. They kept her over night and kept me updated with details. ... read more
We recently had to have our elderly dog put down, which of course happened early in the morning before his regular vet was available. Not to mention his regular vet is some distance away and I wanted to end his suffering as soon as possible. The staff at Emerald City were extremely compassionate and helpful and their prices were actually less than I would have expected to pay at a larger emergency hospital. I hope we never have to go through this again, but if we do, I will be back.
This emergency clinic is phenomenal. I wish my own doctors and my dog's regular vet was this excellent. My 10lb shih tzu had been throwing up all morning and I rushed her to the clinic. After several tests, they diagnosed possible ingestion of a foreign object needing surgery. But knowing my dog also had pre-existing kidney disease (so surgery would be more risky to her) they recommended keeping her overnight for observation in case the object was just a shadow on the x-ray. The following morning they concluded she would ind... read more
I am very happy to know this clinic is there for emergencies after hours.
As Senior Citizen, budgets are tight, and I do put aside money each month for the emergency. To see my dog out of pain, is priceless
I am here to update and eat crow. I was not too happy about the charge for my little dog's recent emergency for me, but not for the rest of the world, appt. I checked around a bit in righteous anger, and found out, that Emerald is very much on par with everyone else, if not better in the wallectomy. So I apologize for my tantrum and again recommend them highly.
Our one year old Border terrier decided to chase a cat under the wheels of a car - the cat escaped but dog was rolled over by a car wheel. We went to Emerald City as the dog began deteriorating (wheezing, glassy eyed, incontinent). Over the next couple of days they took care of the dog through the critical period when it was not clear whether or not she would live or die. She lived, and in the end my impression was that although they were not coddling, they were honest, competent, professional, and communicative.â??
We recently (Aug 20-22) had a very scary experience with our cat LeRoy and the doctor's and staff at Emerald City Vet helped us out tremendously. LeRoy woke up Saturday morning blind and with loss of functionality in his legs. We immediately took him to Emerald City Emergency Clinic (closest place to our house) and as soon as we got there the staff took him back for an examination. Shortly after taking him back the doctor came to meet with us and explained exactly what was going on (blood clots/cardiomyopathy). She was hones... read more
I cannot say enough about the kindness and professionalism of everyone we encountered at Emerald City. They kept us informed on our dog's condition, were very clear about prognosis and treatment options, and gave a comprehensive and accurate estimate. Beyond all that, they were patient and extremely personable. Our dog was there for 24 hours and all staff members got to know our pup and offered us kind words about him. While I hope we never have to go there again, I am so happy to know they are there if we need them.
