I've taken my cat here twice for a couple of serious problems. The staff tells you what is wrong and what action they're taking and they're nice and very clear about it. Like the other dude here said, don't expect a cheap price tag. If you give a shit about your animal pals take them here.

I was very pleased by the care given to my cat over the weekend - given a scary and overwhelming situation. The staff was professional, acted with a sense of urgency and were compassionate. The Dr's were thorough and spent a lot of time with me when I brought her in. The care involved an overnight stay, and was updated by the Dr on duty multiple times a day on her status and progress. My dog Thumper had to have two surgeries and the surgeon I wanted to do the procedures recommended ECEC as where he would prefer to do the procedure and who would take great care of Thumper during recovery. Both surgeries went flawlessly and I can't say enough great things about the staff at ECEC. Tarra was AMAZING. My wife, who was extremely nervous this whole procedure, was calling Tarra, pretty often. This place isn't super fancy or anything, but they are good at what they do. They're professional. They let us visit our dog whenever we wanted to (she stayed there for 3 nights after an ACL repair surgery. They gave us updates when we called to see how she was doing. They gave her her own quiet room with a blocked off gate with blankets and comfy mats for her to relax in. They wrote details and updates throughout the night that we could read. Chances are if your pet had to go to an Emergency Vet Clinic, it's not a very great situation to begin with, but I thought this place deserves a good review.

I recommend this vet clinic for anyone whose pet needs immediate care. I took my cat here late at night because he was very very sick. His condition was life threatening. My financial constraints meant that the hospital stay recommended for my cat's condition was impossible for me to afford. Dr. Johnston is extremely knowledgable and still did everything possible within my limitations to give my cat the best care and a possible chance at recovery. My [leashed] dog was on the losing end of a scuffle with another [unleashed] dog at around 9pm, so I took him here. The waiting room is boring (no TVs or cool magazines), but the staff was great! Dr. Johnston did a great job explaining what my dog needed and recommending the proper course of treatment. I left my dog for his surgery and returned in the middle of the night to pick him up. My daughter and I took our one-year old male cat to Emerald City Emergency Clinic on a Friday night in early October. We later learned that he was probably hit by a car, as he suffered a broken leg. We ended up leaving him there that night, and didn't get him back until Monday afternoon, as he had surgery on Saturday and needed to stay put. I'm actually here right now at 11:15pm drafting this review. I'm thoroughly satisfied with how my cat and I have been treated here. He wasn't on his death bed but it was worse than I thought it was. The vet just came in and spoke with me. Extremely kind, straight to the point, not judgmental (if it was partly your fault for what happened) and willing to listen to me and answer my questions. I'd pay anything for my cat when it comes to treatment so let's not even go there but I consider the amount to be MORE than reasonable. ... read more
