Completely disappointed with this hospitals new collection practices! I have been a resident of the area my entire life and have always relied on the services of this hospital and it's remote locations. My son was even born there! My last two visits seriously rubbed me the wrong way(while the nurses and doctors were fine) mainly because their collection practices have gotten ridicules. My mom can't walk far and gets short of breath but she tries to be independent and keep going. She got so far and had to sit and rest, her breathing was very labor and our experience in other hospitals and even a time or two in Elmhurst hadn't been great, the staff usually see's her struggling but continue on their way, but today a caring, wonderful RN named Angie (wish I knew her full name) stopped to make sure she was okay, as I was walking up from parking the car. Great hospital! Went to the er & they did in 90 mins what Rush Oak Park couldn't do in 4 hours! And the compassion they had for my daughter was the best! Will never go anywhere but there from now on. Elmhurst Hospital I thank from the bottom of my heart!! You rock!!.
From arriving at the emergency room to my wheel chair ride to my ride home, I was treated with tuns of care and respect. Beautiful clean ultra modern hospital. Great communication between staff and doctors. I really have nothing bad to say. Totally impressed. I'm so glad we choose to come to Elmhurst Hospital.
I've been going to this hospital for years, never had any issues. Some staff has been a bit rude, but most of all always had a pleasant experience.
I arrived at the Emergency Department about 11:15pm or so, with considerable difficulty in breathing. I was immediately assessed to determine that I was not having a heart attack (I knew I wasn't). A short wait in the waiting room and I was into a room. Assessed, given a couple breathing treatments, some blood was drawn a chest x-ray and diagnosed with "community acquired pneumonia". Very professional staff, compassionate and caring. Hope I never need their services again, but won't have a problem going if I do.
I think they need to hire more staff and be more attentive to their patients.
Website says 8 minute wait... They mean to triage. Totally misleading. Would have just taken my son to immediate care down the street and not to the ER 35 minutes away. Left my son sitting in the waiting room for well over an hour and spoke to me like I was an idiot when I pushed to get him to a place where he could be more comfortable. (Because I'm a moron that doesn't know how triage works...) Over an hour. In an empty waiting room. While my son moaned and screamed. And no one cared because his vitals were "fine".
