Many believe that Abe Doumar, founder of Doumar's Cones & Barbecue, gave the world its first ice cream cone. Doumar was a traveling salesman retailing paperweights at the famous St. Louis World's Fair in 1904. When an ice cream seller exhausted his stock of paper dishes to hold the ice creams, he got a nearby waffle maker to roll his waffles into cones and thus invented the waffle cone. The plain cheeseburgers are amazing! The buns are super soft too! Don't fill up on food though because they have awesome ice cream.
My parents courted here and it's always a treat. Best bbq and orangeaid ever, awesome service, and hot fresh cones.
Absolutely love this place! I was born in Indiana, and it reminds me of Arnold's in Decatur, Indiana which has since gone out of business. Always get a Hot Taylor and a LimeAid and they are delicious. We always get great service and awesomely delectable food!
