I got approved for a home loan with Divvy back in April . My realtor and I have been researching and choosing homes to view this week but once she entered the portal to calculate the monthly expense for the homes, it showed my app inactive. I have been texting and emailing my Divvy Rep, Amber & Amanda to no avail. Divvy Support is not real and my reps have disappeared completely. I am flabbergasted and so disappointed my lease is up next month and i was extremely excited about getting a house for my son. This is cruel and I ... read more

Business response:

Hi ****** we apologize for any delays in responding to you to get this issue resolved. We took a look at your application and it looks like our team has been in touch with you in the last few weeks. Our buyback prices do factor in modest appreciation of the homes value, in line with market trends in the area. We completely understand if our program isnt the right fit for you right now, but please feel free to reach out if you need any additional support!

I think my experience is bad because i was paired with an agent who didn't seem to want me to find a place. She would waste so much time by the time she's getting ready to look at the place and work out the bid it's off the market. I finally found a place and she put in a bid without going over the bid with me (full asking). Worse still i pointed out several major issues before closing that she ignored and now trying to get those things taken care of by maintenance dept feels like a fight. For anyone getting into this, be ca... read more

I really do not know what to say except that you cannot get anyone on the phone at Divvy. How can I fix an error in my portal if I can't talk to them! But get a text saying that there is an error in my portal and to check my email and there is nothing in my email now for 2 days! I am really frustrated and just want to talk to someone. Seriously, I have the money to do this but do they not want it?

Business response:

Hi ****, were sorry for the delays in responding to you. It looks like we were able to get this issue resolved and get you fully approved, but please email us if you need any further assistance!

I ama curent tenant in a Divvy Home. I am very disappointed in how they handle repairs and what they will and will not fix. One of the windows panes has a spider crack from the winter storm in February 2021 here in Texas. I out in a maintenance request to repair it and was told that the window is MY responsibility. I can see if I caused it but clearly it was due to the storm. Also, have had issues with the air conditioning system all winter which caused $400 plus a month electric bills. Divvy did not offer to do anything abo... read more

This is the worst rent-to-own company that I had to deal with. They tell you one thing as a customer and completely do another. No consistency. Plus, their homes are overpriced even with the equity you are saving. If your choice is not to buy your home, they will charge a “surrender” fee that is larger than the equity kept causing you to lose all money invested. Choose another company. Save yourself time, energy and money.

Business response:

Hi ****, were sorry to hear that your experience with Divvy hasnt been great. We want to be clear that the surrender fee is included in the lease, webinar, and quiz we provide to our customers before they sign the lease. We educate every customer about the terms of our agreements. The fee is 2% of the purchase price of the home for all of our customers and it does not increase. This fee covers the cost of re-listing the property or re-leasing it to another customer. If a customer's home savings equal more than 2% of the purc... read more

Wow. Talk about my trust being all out the window immediately. I was considering applying with Divvy, but after reading these reviews - I'm going to take a serious hard pass. I believe in the one star reviews - that's where you find that grain of truth no matter how you try to finesse a 4 or 5 star review. It's cute how someone at Divvy realized that they had negative reviews and (naturally) responded to the negative reviews with seemingly positive fluff, but miss me with it Divvy and don't be extending an invitation for me ... read more

HORRIBLE! HORRIBLE customer service! It take 3 weeks or more to get a response and its only by email or texts. The company and site clearly states a FICO score of 550 or higher to be approved. I had 560 and was denied. I had no recent loan delinquencies, and any foreclosures or bankruptcies and was denied. My husband (co-borrower) also had 560 and was approved. I've tried to contact someone for clarification and no response at all. I don't know if this company is a scam or what, but their customer service is horrible. I will... read more

I'm not sure what guidelines or credit report DIVVY homes uses, but my credit is over 650 and was denied. I was approved with a lender,I just didn't have the down payment to move forward.

This company rented a home in our deeded HOA community and their renter painted the house a bright deep blue against beige facade. It has devalued the surrounding homes in our community. Their renter has been in this home only 2 months and has already had multiple violations. If this is how the handle their rent to own business then their CEO ***** ****** should be made aware of these decisions. If their renter defaults then not only have the devalued our homes but also their home.
