I typically do not write reviews; however, I felt the need to share my experience and concern about Divvy. When I first researched this company, I was excited with the possibilities of a home with less than perfect credit. I applied and was approved and ready to start the process. It took a second to be assigned a realtor, but that was fine. I already started my search and had homes ready to share. When I received my budget, I had several questions. The most important was can I put down a larger down payment to get something... read more

Business response:

Hi ***, were sorry to hear about your experience. While we can offer some flexibility on home budgets if a customer can provide a larger down payment, well need to evaluate every home to see if we can make that exception. We will definitely take on your feedback to help us improve that process. It looks like you were able to find a home through our program, so we hope things are going well. Please feel free to reach out to us if you need any support.

Divvy requires access to your bank accounts and sensitive information, but offers no telephone number or way to contact them directly. They only want to deal in email. That was the first red flag. They also attack anyone that leaves a negative comment on their FB page. All of the reviews on their FB page are fake. These are people that are asked to make a positive remark, but they have NOT dealt with the company, and that is clear on their own pages. They ask for alot of sensitive information, and will deny you, until you ma... read more

Business response:

Divvy is not truthful with their customers. The most disturbing lie they told me was that I could purchase the home at any time for fair market value. Lies. The fair market value Diivy proposes is based on 18 months appreciation, even if the house is purchased in 6 months. The appreciation you sited on a $140,000 home was $16,000. $1,000 per month? In this area of Cleveland, that has had a historical appreciation rate of 2-3% annually at its height? After I ran the numbers, Diivy would have made Over $26,000 on my purchase w... read more

Business response:

Hi ***, we're sorry things didn't work out. We've spoken to our team and heard that your Divvy agent did run you through our buyback pricing, as well as comparable appreciation rates in the area. Our pricing is absolutely transparent—we list estimated buyback prices on our Search tool and are always happy to discuss how we come to these valuations with our customers. Since we agree on buyback prices with our customers before they sign any agreements, there are no surprises when customers are ready to buy back. We absolutely ... read more

Divvy at its core is a racist organization and systematically disqualifies non white applicants from using their system. Also when individuals attempt to buy the homes they are staying the hidden costs provides a huge profit for divvy. Modern loan sharks

Business response:

Hi *****, thank you for flagging this to us. We looked into your application in detail and found that we followed our qualification policies correctly. We also want to be clear that none of Divvy’s policies disqualify applicants based on their race or ethnic background. We’re more than happy to discuss this in more detail with you—feel free to reach out to us any time.

The Divvy Team works quickly and makes the process very easy. Their local agents were available for questions, their inspection program is very thorough and the clarity of the process and the tenant/buyer obligations are crystal clear. I cannot recommend them enough!

Business response:

Hi Kerry, so happy to hear that you've had a good experience working with us. Best of luck in your new home!

I applied Tuesday and was denied today...Friday. No criminal back ground, no evictions, no delinquent accounts. All three credit scores are high 750’s. A business that gross high six figures. Bank statements and tax returns and I was denied...I even submitted statements showing current balances to pay the down payment. This company is a joke and these reviews must be fake. My only debt is my truck note. I’m not sure who the underwriter is but you must prey on low income and bad credit. Don’t waste your time applying if you h... read more

Business response:

Hi K****, thanks a lot for raising this concern. We underwrite every customer to be certain they’re able to afford our program and will be on the path to qualifying for a mortgage within three years. Furthermore, we aim to be transparent with our qualification requirements. Someone from our team has reached out to answer any questions you have, talk through your application, and see how we can help.

I have had the worst experience with Divvy. I’ve been asking to speak to a corporate manager since March and I’ve been denied the option to talk to anyone but Caylen. I started out with a lease purchase and was promised a downgraded lease in April, May, and June. For months the company continued to charge me the lease amount with equity and blamed the investors for not wanting to downgrade me. Once downgrade lease was completed I was never contacted via phone just an email asking me to sign a new lease but no one explained w... read more

I am not sure who these people are that had a great experience with Divvy Homes, but I feel they are not real experiences and staged comments. Divvy Homes is a rip off. They hire crack head people off the streets with no degree in contracting to work on repairs. They do not hire license contractors. If they do have a license contractor then the contractor will be bootleg and hire other people off the streets to do the work. Also, Divvy does not pay them enough money for the repairs. Perhaps that is why the contractors do che... read more

Business response:
