experience at del frisco – gorgeous space, maybe the most impressive restaurant in terms of ambiance. Food was expensive but worth it. I might add you would not eat here very often if you are picking up the tab. the negatives would be the service very green and not up to the level it needs to be for a Del Frisco. The other gripe: the wine list-although impressive in selections, the price points are ridiculous. I ask myself who buys this stuff the markups on the good bottles(which typically are the best buys on a good list) w... read more
Best Of Houston – Del Friso's is one of those rare restaurants which give Houston a really good name. We took our two kids and went for a first impression dinner this evening. Admittedly, all four of us are used to very fine dining in this city, and we love trying new places. We all found Del Frisco's to be totally charming, complete with upscale service and wonderful food. The manager came to our table to greet us, followed by our waitress who was completely well-versed on the menu. We sampled the prime ribeye, lamb chops, ... read more
Can't really review because I never got a chance to eat – I never was able to eat dinner tonight for my 9pm reservation for my fiance's birthday. By 10:15, it was clear that we would still not be seated, over an hour past our reservation. The staff clearly had no control over the front of the house. The host refused to make eye contact with me, and up to 6 hostesses at a time sat blank-faced, looking at the computer screen all evening, while many customers sat waiting to be seated. When it was 10pm, an hour past our reservat... read more
good food, sexist atmosphere – I have to believe that the owners of this restaurant set out to attract the male business crowd, and succeeded. While the male wait-staff is dressed in trousers, long-sleeved shirts and vests, the females wear short, tight black dresses, often paired with fish-net stockings and high-heeled boots (and sorry, women, but it looked cheap not classy). The restaurant's clientele was 90% men. As a professional woman, I cried at the clock being turned back so far. If this appeals to you though, I'll ad... read more
excellent service, atmosphere – What a scene! Plan on arriving for your reservation at the exact time...you will still have time to go to the bar. Which is not a negative, just informative. The calamari is out of this world, steaks maybe the best quality in the city, salmon was perfectly cooked (so not what I expected for a steakhouse). The staff is highly trained, don't be afraid to ask questions! The only complaint is I feel a little overwhelmed by the staff at the front door when I first walk in. Keep up the great work De... read more
I love Del Frisco's! – Del Frisco's is the best and only steak house I have ever been to. When you walk in, you are welcomed by the hostess who politely walks you to your table. You look around at the beautiful atmosphere including dark wood pilars, circular staircase, and booths filled with people. She then hands you the menu and you open up to a document with all your favorites. Including, Lobster, Filet Mignon, and a classic dish, Onion Rings!! The waiters are professional and very quick. After each course, they clean up ... read more
Expensive. Noisy. Nice Decor. Did I mention expensive? – Been here 3 times now since this place opened last summer and have to say Del Friscos continues to underwhelm. This is possibly one of the noisiest restaurants in Houston - it?s hard to hear anybody talking at the table. Admittedly the architecture and decor is pretty impressive. Lots of twisted wrought iron and glass - obviously plenty of overhead here at this Galleria location. Honestly the steaks are pretty good (but make sure you take out a second mortgage before y... read more
Another gargantuan steakhouse opens in Center City, this one with three floors (including a subterranean level), three bars and 1400 bottles of wine. – In Short Bold. Expensive. Power-hungry. These are words that might come to mind when dining at the Philly outpost of this national steakhouse chain. The three-story former bank building can intimidate its less self-assured patrons with its impossibly high ceilings, neck-stretching cement columns and local celebs air-kissing the rich and richer over $800 bottles of wine. Classy Restaurant – The food here is art and is meant to be savored over conversation with your companions. The staff was attentive, taking time to explain each item on the plate. However they did not seem to intrude upon the conversation. Water and wine glasses were refilled almost without being noticed. ....this restaurant requires budgeting ahead.
