Dr. Boden was disinterested and inattentive when addressing my injury during the appt. I thought because he was a "sports medicine" orthopedic surgeon that he would have been concerned with my situation based on my sports background, big mistake. Dr. Boden has taken wonderful care of my orthopedic needs for a number of years. Unlike some orthopedists who are quick to do major surgeries, Dr. Boden only does that when it is clear that there is no other choice. He clearly believes in participatory medicine as he has warmly discussed my conditions and my options with me throughout my orthopedic experiences. Dr. Boden was outstanding. My son tore his ACL in late July playing hoops, had the corrective surgery by Dr. Boden in August, and 5 months later he was well on his way to making a full recovery. Dr. Boden is an outstanding surgeon that works well with young athletes.
Dr. Levin spends time listening to you and what your concerns are. I am a previous spine(lumbar) surgery patient(different practice) when I saw Dr. Levin for neck/arm pain. It was determined through appropriate testing and examination that I needed a three-level cervical spine fusion. I had gone through the conservative measures and when my MRI showed spinal cord compression, it was clear what was needed. Dr Levin is wonderful but the office staff is terrible. The surgery scheduler doesn’t answer calls, and voicemails and emails aren’t returned. Reaching her is nearly impossible. When I finally had my procedure scheduled, the office failed to send the appropriate documentation to my insurance company, so I showed up for at the surgical center at 0730 and THEN they informed me it couldn’t be done! How is that OK?
As far as I'm concerned, I wouldn't work with any other surgeon for a knee surgery other than Dr. Barry Boden. Dr. Boden was understanding, compassionate and receptive to my needs as his patient. His professionalism and positive outlook on my prognosis was comforting both during my initial diagnosis, on the day of surgery and in my aftercare. While I hope to never injure my knee again to the point where a full ACL reconstruction will be necessary, I know who to go in case I do.
Dr. Boden was professional, kind and knowledgeable in treating me. I highly recommend him if you need help!
After doing considerable research seeking out an orthopedic surgeon that I felt comfortable with in replacing my knee, I chose Dr. Boden. This was the best decision I could have made. The reason I chose Dr. Boden and his team was their reputation, their high level of successful outcomes, the teams experience with the TKA procedure, their choice of medical device (Depuy Synthes Sigma System) and level of expertise using this system. This is an extremely difficult surgery! I highly recommend!
Dr. Levin is the best. Love his professionalism, directness and he is a great surgeon. I went from 5.5 yrs of pain management to having him do fusion surgery on my L5-S1 and 3 weeks out of surgery I stopped all pain medications and feel fantastic! I am pain free!!! He also responds to e-mails when I had questions which made it really nice too!
