Dr. Kooima went through a full exam of my shoulder and explained what tests she wanted (MRI) she made me feel comfortable that she will be able to fix whatever the test shows.
She is prompt, explains what is going on, listens, and responds to concerns at every visit

Dr. Kooima spent a lot of time going over my injury, long-term and short term side effects, and different treatment options. She didn’t rush and answered all of my questions. She also didn’t push me one way or the other but empowered me to make the best choice for myself. I would highly recommend her.
Dr. Kooima listened completely to the history of my injury, took notes, & openly discussed my options. She explained my X-Rays in layman's terms & provided details about how & why my injury occured, then followed up with an explanation of why short-term remedies could result in further complications as I plan to continue activities that caused my injury initially. Overall, I found her very knowledgable & believable, & she exuded the type of self-confidence that is comforting when I'm facing with any surgical procedure.
Dr. Kooima is a star in my eyes, she is kind, caring, helpful and of course a super Surgeon. She did a complete knee replacement on me a month ago, and I'm happy as a Lark with the results. Absolutely no complications, minor pain compared to the pain I was in prior to the surgery, I can't tell you how happy and fortunate I am to have met this super star of a Surgeon. Thank you Dr. Kooima,
Dr Kooima is very professional and informative. I always have great confidence in her. She seems genuinely caring about my knee problem with prompt attention. I would highly recommend her!
Dr. Kooima was fantastic. I had the feeling that she had reviewed my MRI before my appointment and knew exactly what was wrong. She took the time to show me both my MRI and X-rays and explain what everything was and what my options were. While I was getting cortisone shots in my shoulders she talked to me about random life stuff (we have Michigan in common) and I can't tell you how much that meant to me! Just taking time and talking.
