Great attention to detail and really listens
I have been a patient of Dr Yau since 2019. I have the utmost confidence in her ability to recommend and provide the best treatment for me. She always answers my questions in a way I understand. And I feel she really listens to my concerns.
Very impressed with this doctor and her team and how she interacts with the other doctor's involved with my son's care. What everyone wants with their healthcare team. Knowledge, communication, caring. Absolutely outstanding including the Radiologist and Surgeon on this team and their staff.
My primary care doctor in Temple saw some lab results that he thought could bear a closer inspection , and he referred me to Dr. Yau. My first visit with her in 2021 was a Telehealth during Covid, and as helpful as that was, it's just not the same as a person-to-person visit. Every visit since has been in person, and it's a pleasure and is informative having an appoinment with her. I find it easy to talk with Dr. Yau and she spends ample time with me and listens to my concerns.
I am so happy that I met Dr. Yau... after a very long-term relationship with my last hematology-oncologist I was worried that I wouldn't have another doctor as kind, caring and thorough as he was when he retired. I needn't have been concerned - Dr. Yau is all of those things, and she's knowledgeable, thoughtful and enthusiastic.
She is very knowledgeable and gives you all the time you need
Dr. Yau is an amazing doctor. She listens to concerns and for the most part explains why she recommending a particular treatment. I am the type of person that needs to know the why, what, and how it will work. With that being said, try not to make it sound as if you are questioning her knowledge, she gets defensive. Dr. Yau has been open to listening to concerns and doing things away from the 'Standard practice of care', as long as it doesn't fall into something that wouldn't be immoral.

Dr Yau is sincere and shows compassion while addressing your concerns of your diagnose. She reviews tests results and answers all of your questions sets a course of action and explains it so you fully understand. I could not ask for a better experience I will recommend Dr Yau to my family and friends. I am very grateful to have Dr. Yau as my oncologist .
