This is one of the worst experiences I’ve had in a costa. I normally wouldn’t leave a review in this way however I feel for the staff because they have clearly been let down by management. They are all friendly enough but do look very unhappy. The store is dirty, cups, plates left everywhere. The store is very warm. The air con doesn’t work and the portable units were turned off. I had a truly wonderful experience at Costa Coffee in Gloucester Quays thanks to the amazing service provided by Tetiana and her colleague. From the moment I approached the counter, Tetiana didn’t hesitate to pause what she was doing to serve me with genuine warmth, a big smile, and a very polite attitude. Popped in on a lunch break today- understandably busy, but doesn’t excuse staff behaviour. Poor girl on the tills hadn’t a clue what she was doing as she was evidently new, whilst a young guy with tattoos was faffing trying to show her how to change a till roll. Completely understand that everyone has to learn- but sticking her on tills during a rush?? Hardly ideal. Almost put my order through wrong initially, albeit obviously not her fault. Very disappointing. I have used costa a lot and unlike ever other store this one does not add the coffee to their frappe unless asked specifically. When I questioned this I was told that there were two options but these were not offered when my wife ordered the drink. Also the gent at the top was very unhelpful an unveiling to do anything about it. Also very noisy and messy.
