In planning a trip to visit one of my best friends in Charlotte (I'm from NY), I mentioned the idea to take a road trip to Kinston to check out The Chef & the Farmer. She was as excited about as I was since she had heard only good things about the restaurant from others in the Charlotte area. The staff was gracious, knowledgeable and very accommodating. Oh my, there would be no other reason at all to go to Kinston, NC, except for The Chef& the Farmer. It's really sad too, because it could be such an awesome town!! We started at the Boiler Room, having some cocktails and dinner for my grandson (chicken freak). We proceeded to the Chef & the Farmer for a wonderful dinner. I'm not going to get crazy about anything, the food, service and atmosphere was great.
