Excellent. Had to go gluten free and they have a menu plus will attempt to take regular menu items and prepare them gluten free. I had NC shrimp and grits. Unbelievable flavors (I accentuate the plural) in that dish. Of particular note was the flash fried collards and sea salt. Just like a thin, crispy chip. Everything was perfect. Perfect seating, great food, great service. I love that all of the waitstaff helped no matter if it was their assigned table so you have them constantly refilling your drink without having to ask. Would only have been better to meet Vivian and Ben � This was a great birthday surprise. Also love the Boiler Room.

December 1 was our third visit to Chef and the Farmer. We are huge Vivian fans however we were very disappointed in our dining experience on this visit. The flash fried collards were greasy (not on previous visits). We ordered bread and received three pieces of mediocre quality for four people. The butter bean dip was tasty but more of a soup than dip (with no accompanying spoon). I would give the Chef and the Farmer more than 5 stars if I could! My boyfriend and I went last night and we had a wonderful time! The food was fabulous. I had Cornish game hen (amazing!) and Joe Dan had the brisket (also amazing)! We started with the flash fried collards which were light, crunchy, and perfectly flavorful!
