My wife and I just visited this restaurant after trying for over a year. We were completely blown away by the service and of course the amazing dishes. The culinary creations that Mrs Howard’s team put together were exquisite works of art. Foods that you’d think would never go together blend perfectly as if they were meant for one another. Every dish that we tastes was seasoned perfectly. Of course our server was top notch too. Our expectations were exceeded ten times over. We can’t wait to go back!

Everything was amazing! I highly recommend the Lima Bean spread as an appetizer! My husband was very impressed with the ribeye. I had the pork shoulder and sweet potato lasagna and it was phenomenal! Each course just kept getting better! We will definitely be going back!

Chef & the Farmer is always on point! We prefer seats at the kitchen bar because we love to watch THIS team in action! The flash-fried collards are an absolute staple with us and I’m such a contrary diner I love to wash it down with champagne! We ordered the beef tartare as our small plate but then we saw the Lima Bean dip getting prepped and we happily switched our order...it did not disappoint! My wonderful husband of almost 49 years gave me “Deep Run Roots” as a Christmas gift and inside was a reservation confirmation for Chef & the Farmer. I was thrilled. We drove from SC thru driving rain for 4 hours and visited last night. Everything exceeded expectations. True hospitality and professionalism at every turn. The food was outstanding, especially the pizza, pork chop with dirty faro and black sea bass. Husband is still raving about his beet salad. Thank you for helping my Christmas present come to life. Yum!

Had dinner on February 2, 2018. Daily bread plate had wonderful farm-fresh butter and delicious country ham. Enjoyed the apricot preserves and pickled beets from my husband's share plate with tongue, souse, etc. Specialty cocktails were a little pricey but enjoyed my cranberry margarita.
