Since the snow disaster in Texas, I have been checking each day to see what my Champion Energy bill might be. I am lucky to be on a fixed rate, but even though I have been checking almost daily, I kept getting a message on their website that they were transferring over to something new. I checked again today, and suddenly, I have a past due on my account.....and account that has been unaccessible until today for me to even see a bill to pay. Horrible billing practice. I am very particular about paying my bills on time.

I have had 4 different electric providers in the last 10 years. I just started with Champion Energy a couple months ago, and so far they have exceeded all previous providers in the delivery of service and information. There wasn't any hidden charges in our bill statements, so the price you see online is the price that you get. I'm thankful that they do that since a lot of other providers are not upfront about gimmicks and other surprise charges when you sign up. I've been with Champion only a few months now, but I love it. We were previously with Direct Energy, which was fine, but they didn't have the A+ customer service team that Champion does. They helped me with everything and beat the rate I was being offered to renew at Champion (without any discount codes). I wish I would have found them sooner.

This company runs hot and cold, hit and miss. You get a decent service one month and horrific the next. Customer service reps are sub par at best and they dont seem to care! Ive been with them for several years and lived with the ups and downs fearing that they may be the new norm in the energy providers in Texas. Then came along Covid 19 and they got worst, along with the climate. Received a call this morning trying to get me to switch my energy provider. The caller was belligerent, deceiving, and forceful in telling me I was wrong and that I needed to listen to her because she had to reach me about this urgent situation. ALL A LIE. She misrepresented who she was calling from,, making it seem like she was calling for BGE my utility company. A big scam.

I had trouble with a different electric company when my contract ended, they started charging me a ridiculous premium for not being under contract and whats worst they offered very bad rates. I started researching and found Champion. I have been with champion for over 2 years and even moved the service to my new address recently, everything has always been seamless with them, no surprise charges and the best rates when compared with all other electric companies. Champion switched my account to their sister company, North American Power. Since I didn't have a contract, they were charging me double what my electric company would charge me for 4 months!!! They said that because I didn't have a contract with them, my rate was higher. Well in the letter where they notified me that they were transferring my account they said I didn't have to do anything. I will never pick this company or North American Power to supply my electric and don't recommend them because what they did is unethical... read more

They didn't tell me about hidden fees. The Champion energy fee? What the heck is that? My energy costs have gone sky high. Now they want me to pay $250. to change providers. Don't think I can recommend this company. They are full of hidden fees they don't share with you when you call them for information,
