They did fantastic for 2 years. But they double billed my auto pay set up recently. It didn't show up in the bill and the next bill showed a credit for the over bill amount. I logged in to see I had a past due amount on the website but none of the bills reflected I was late or had any overdue amount. I called to see what was going on. The CSR was very pleasant but she couldn't figure it out and said she would escalate it. A week went by and I heard nothing until I got a threat to disconnect notice. Not only did they not cancel my contract on time when I called over 2 months ago, they never refunded me any of my money that I lost because I wasn't at the apartment. When I called over 10 times with them and requested the help of a manger, nothing got done. In the end, when they finally managed to cancel my contract (2 months AFTER my first call to cancel) they billed me for an additional ENTIRE MONTH. After reading a few bad reviews wanted to defend a bit this company. 7 years ago I switched from TXU and never was sorry about it. Yes, they were a bit late with bills after that winter storm, but mine bill was reasonable - exactly amount I was expecting. I was approached by the other companies representatives (TXU at my new home), and after looking at my bill from Champion and calculating their charges, they told me they couldn't beat it. Will not refund an overpayment error of over $1600 for 2-3 weeks ! I need that money now to pay other bills!

Do not use this company. They will lie to try and lock you in to an unwanted contract. We spoke with Veronica because our current plan at our apartment is ending. We are in the process of purchasing our first home and will not be moving for about a month. We also have not yet figured out what we are doing for our utilities yet. I would like to find out why I was changed $4,257.15 in ancillary services, $1,494.95 in losses, and $455.01 in miscellaneous charges when I usually pay $1,200.00 to $1,500.00 a month for my total electric bill. I am set up on a fixed monthly kw rate and then I was sent this bill. When we called Champion's customer service they said it was from the freeze. $26,000 Bill. yep! $26,000, $26,000! So I finally receive my bill from the freeze (66) days ago that is due in full ($26,000) or their 'discount' of $26,000 comes in to play. Yep, $52,000. It's taken almost 3 days to get someone on the phone to simply speak with and try to figure this out. I signed up for a fixed rate and they cannot locate my contract. The reason for the delay in billing? Champion energy switched software platforms so it took them over 2 months to deliver then tell me its due in 14 days, the full $26,000. Y... read more

After nearly a year, they decide to charge me more than what I was locked in for. This is what my bill showed: quantity 3x9 usage rate .066 total 26.05 and TDU showed: quantity 0 rate 0 total 19.2x. So I called and ask them what is x mean the guy on the phone said “sorry but we just update our system and our system does not show us your bill.” I login to the server and the server said we cannot produce your usage history but this is how much you owe us 45.08.
