My care at the VA has been shotty at best. My PCP in Austin is good, however everything and I mean everything else- MENTAL HEALTH- has been TERRIBLE. I am not surprised to hear that a poor soul took his life in the VA in Austin. It’s embarrassing to say I’m a veteran. Hero to ZERO

Waited for 4 hours to make an appt for my husband. I was hung up on twice. Never got through to a person to help with the appt. He needs to establish care or I would have made the appt online. This is why our veterans dont want to seek medical care at the VA.
RecommendedCaring. Professional. Good leadership at the top. Large volume of traffic. Always had great reputation. Expectations may be too high for impatient veterans at times. We appreciate the service.
while I see a lot of people complain about the treatment that patients and families receive, everyone has been very helpful. they have communicated with me wonderfully since I am 2 hours away and calling for updates on my Dad. they always apologize If the nurse is busy and needs to call me back. I think it is comparable to any other hospital experience my family or myself have had. they are health professionals and the first priority has to be to caring for the patients health before communicating with me or getting someone ... read more
Its a Great system. They really care. Hey fellow Vets. I want to encourage all of you to come out to AVAfest. It is a month long Arts festival at multiple venues in Austin that includes singing, comedy acts, painting, drawing, dance and other forms of art that is helpful in providing vets a sense purpose and fellowship with other Veterans.
