Bueatiful setting, food was great service was good, the room was a little more "rustic" than I would have liked. But all in all we enjoyed our stay at Captain Whidbey Inn.
Note: it's RUSTIC. That's the point. I love my luxuries when I travel, but even without all the usual amenities, I LOVE The Captain Whidbey Inn. It is the quintessential of its type. Quaintly picturesque without the over-done gentrification. Save the fussiness for another adventure. This one's back country awesomeness with refreshing views, historic charm and incredible eco-centric dining.
Last night we had dinner on the deck, the moon was full, the sky was pink, the food was fab, the wine was the perfect temperature and our server Felicia was excellent! Thank you!
The Caption Whidbey Inn was seriously the best choice we could of made for our honeymoon! The property is breathtaking, the view was spectacular and the staff was amazing!! I would go back in a heartbeat, Eileen was so amazing and went out of her way multiple times ro accommodate our needs!
This place is not for everyone, but was perfect for us. This is not a fancy hotel. It is a charming, extremely rustic place to relax; no frills. The grounds are beautiful, with gardens to stroll and beach area to explore. I'm so thankful that the place has not been updated. It has so much character!
I loved the restaurant. The bed is very comfortable. The view is amazing. But you can hear everything, I mean everything; every step, every word, every sneeze from the adjoining rooms. Only the basics are in very dated rooms. The front desk attendant was short with us. Definitely more is expected for the price of $200+ a night. Disappointed but had a great time in the restaurant.
Went for mothers day brunch. The menu they showed online as we planned our trip for today was NOT what it said it was going to be. Then the price listing was $5 more for each person. We drove and went there after making reservations a week and a half early and we were not on the list. I wanted the waffles, quinoa salad, broccoli, mashed potatoes etc....then the waiter never came back even took forever to get the check. On the positive side....mom enjoyed her brunch and that's what it was all about.
