Elliott Moss and crew have brought to Asheville the true meaning of barbecue!, with sides that remind us of good ole southern cooking. If you have ever enjoyed great wood cooked barbecue then this is the place for you! I highly recommend it!

No one restaurant should wield so much power over BBQ and dessert!

Impressive Turn Around: I don't usually write reviews, but I felt like Buxton deserved one. My husband, daughter and I came in right at the beginning of lunch today, hungry and looking forward to some barbecue. After being seated by the hostess, we sat for at least 10 minutes. It was not crowded, but no one came over to offer us water, check in, anything. 10 minutes isn't a huge amount of time in the grand scheme of things, but when you have a 1.5 year old with you, you're never sure how long you have! Delicious food, great staff!! Do not pass up the chance to order anything with apple butter on it. The fried chicken sandwich was topped with the most delicious pimiento cheese. All of the sides sounded so amazing. The flavors were unexpected yet beautifully paired.

Business response:

Thanks for the kind words Dawn!

The collards, brussel sprouts, hushpuppies, baked beans, ribs, pulled bbq, and banana pudding are all the best I have ever had. Many North Carolinian's are under the impression that the best eastern style BBQ restaurants are located in eastern North Carolina. This is certainl... read more

Very overpriced for the food. It wasn't very good and the service was horrible. Our waitress hung out at the bar and talked to the bartender we had to wait on ourselves. We were very disappointed and will not be back.
