Been here 3 times, my first, last and only time. We were the 4th party to be seated right after they opened. 4 ppl in the first group and 2 each in the other 3. It took over 50 minutes to receive our food. Now in a BBQ restaurant all the meats are prepared in advance and ready to serve. All the tables seated just minutes before us were gone 20 minutes before we got food along with tables seated after us. We had to ask for ice in our water and after looking at other tables I guess water is not served with ice. Now to the food... read more

Arrived at 5:30 with a party of 14. Left at 7:10 with no food. Informed waitress to cancel my order. The catfish was evidently not biting. Server was extremely nice and very prompt with drinks and gave excellent drink service. Will never return!!!!

Great service and food. Four of us sat at the bar and shared 3 plates which was more than enough food - we had the ribs, the BBQ and the 1/2 smoked chicken. everything was fresh and delicious. Elliott Moss was onsite and was kind enough to give us a small tour of the kitchen. Will definitely go back!

Worst service I have ever received. Bartender paid no attention at all. Food was delicious however we had to pull nails to get it.

Just visited Buxton Hall for the first time. I went with a group of six for dinner and had a couple of appetizers and drinks. The beer selection was good but I was excited by their cocktail menu, so I ordered one (cannot recall the name). It was $10 and probably 4 oz. total, and very overpowering cucumber flavor. It was also quite warm. Our server graciously replaced it with a beer of my choice. Meanwhile, my husband's beer was forgotten. Our server apologized profusely. Our appetizers were delicious (pimento cheese and hush... read more

Just had the worst experience here. #1 Chicken was dry #2 The food was WAY too salty. #3 The whole place was full of smoke. I have mild asthma and I had problems breathing due to the smoke. The smoke bothered my mother too. Both of our eyes are still burning. Needs better ventilation. Wont be back.

Went once. Once was enough. Way too pricey for what you get. Half a slice of pie for $7....no thanks. I ordered the Brussel sprouts...burnt and greasy. I'll stick with Luella's (no I don't work for Luella's, or anyone, I'm retired).

Nice rustic old town setting... Very polite staff. The food was absolutely great. Wished the portions were bigger but everything tasted wonderful.

Great atmosphere for a group of friends or a low key date night. Try the Brussels sprouts and their key lime pie is delicious!
