I needed to buy a hat right away!!! – STAY AWAY !!! By far the worst haircut of the century !!! For 100 bucks a pop the guy completely butchered my hair. Since I wasn't exactly jumping for joy, he started to get upset with me. I wouldn't go back, even if they paid me 100 bucks. I wish I had checked the reviews before heading there.... too late.
Disappointed – Went to Stebie recommended by receptionist & b/c she was often off-site at fashion shows and events, felt comfortable putting my hair in her hands. I spent mos growing hair out from bad, chopy cut at Cutler Salon. Told her I wanted long layers and how wanted my hair to fall, but she chop, chopped away as if robot with knowledge of one type of cut and gave me same cut (only worse) that I had just grown out. Cut yes, color no – I've been going to B+B for years. My stylist Nancy is very talented, she reliably gives me a great cut. She charges $110, which for popular NYC salons isn't bad. I also like their products and use them regularly. The staff is generally friendly and hospitable. But I stopped going there for color after the colorist gave my brown hair "highlights" that can only be described as orange -- three times in a row! Each time he fixed it, but then he'd do it again. So now for color I use Louis Licari.
one of the best haircuts i've ever had!!!! – i was a little worried about getting all my hair cut off at a new place. Ihad just moved to ny from la, and heard bumble was the place to go. I got hooked up with a stylist named sarah via my stylist out in la. AMAZING!!!!! this girl really knows her stuff. she was kind, attentive, litened to what i wanted and gave me a hcthat i never would have thought possible. defintaly the best stylist i've ever been to. no wonder people know of her all the way across the country!
It's the haircut and the stylist – Look, i do not get a haircut to feel like "queen for a day." I want the haircut I want, and to have it cut well so it looks good and grows out nicely. That all really depends on the stylist, not the salon. At every salon you take a chance when you walk in and take whoever's available. Great experience – I was surprised, reading some of these reviews after my experience today. I was ushered in and shown around by the courteous front desk, given my robe and changing room by a genuinely friendly chick, offered a complimentary coffee drink or tea, and then brought upstairs for color. Trendy/Hip place – People do rave about this place. It's not bad, place is very modern. I got a typical haircut, which does look nice, but was 85 bucks. For a men's cut that's pretty high considering I didn't have much done to it. I received no love with the massage after the hair wash either, I was in and out in 5 mins....mainly b/c they forgot I was there. I won't rank em off the list this one time around...they'll get another shot. If you are lookin for your old school type barber shop, this ain't it kiddo's.
NO HAIR LEFT!! – I went here with healthy shoulder length hair. I left with a teased shag that only behaves with manipulation and products. I said that I wanted to keep the length and wanted some pizazz. Instead the stylist razored into my hair and made a huge mess of it. She thinned my hair out, fried the ends with the razor and left me with a haircut that takes so much effort to look somewhat acceptable.
