The tavern that rose from two fires to be the oldest restaurant in all of the town, is worth going to see based on History alone. The food, too, is a delicious range of traditional, home-cooked fare, made from scratch. The buffet menu offers a different variety of dishes each day and the numerous pies for dessert are a truly mouthwatering end to the meal. There is an event hall that seats up to 150 people. You can also pick up a couple of souvenirs to remember the trip from the small shop before you leave.

Fantastic homestyle food, a great bar, and beautiful dining!
Every time we visit Breitbach’s we have had an excellent experience. From the location, to the wait staff/bartenders, and, of course, the food-it is all exceptional. It is certainly a hidden gem in Iowa, but well worth the trip from any location. Highly recommend!
Had a nice lunch with friends. Everything was homemade and tasted wonderful. Make sure you get a piece of pie. Homemade crust. Yum!
You could not ask your patrons to please hurry up we have other customers waiting for this table. Guess what? NO TIPS and probably wont be back! How rude! Food was fine. But nobody tells me Hurry and please vacate the table. Would not recomend just for that reason.
Very busy when we were there but the wait time was minimal. Excellent service and Buffett was awesome.
