Becco

4.3

About this business

Inspired by his travels across Italy, Joe Bastianich opened Becco with his mom Lidia to much fanfare. The word Becco comes from the Italian verb beccare, meaning "to nibble." A great addition to Broadway's dining alternatives, the lovely restaurant is a popular pit stop for theater-goers. Sample their delectable prix-fixe pasta menu and the kitchen's redefinition of Italian flavors with an impressive wine list and seasonal cocktails.

My son brought us here for my Mother's Day / birthday and it was phenomenal!! We had thecaesar salad, three pastas of the day, swordfish, ossobucco and veal parmigiana and a bottle of Muscato. The service was wonderful, the food extremely good and plentiful-- no room for the wonderful desserts they offered. Would highly recommend

I have eaten here a few times and it never disappoints! The bistecca alla Beccos and their home made mushroom ravioli was insane and out of this world delicious. I also had the house prosecco and was not disappointed. Only disappointing part was that I was too full for dessert. .....

This is my favorite restaurant in NYC. I've been coming for years - every time I come to The City if I possibly can. You cannot beat the service, the food or the energy here. Their Osso Bucco is tremendous. And their "3 tastes of pasta" make me wish I were a competitive eater. And a wine list so full of great $29 bottles I have trouble making a decision. $29 bottles of great wine in NYC?!? Get there. You won't be disappointed.

Awful, the food is bathed in greasy oil, everything is dripping. Lydia should be ashamed (although I am sure she cries all the way to the bank), this is nothing more than a tourist trap. Long time tourist trap Carmines is 100% better and that is not saying much. The noise level in the upper front room made my ears ring for hours I felt I was in a B 1960's horror movie. The wait staff was awful -0- personality.

I had dinner at this establishment Sundsy evening and I was absolutely disgusted with the service. I have been in the restaurant industry for 11 years and coming from someone who dines out quite frequently I'm appalled. For starters got seated and not once acknowledged for 8 minutes the table whom got seated after us had their drinks before we even got menus. We placed our order with our server Ray and he basically questioned everything we ordered rude but okay. Every table around us got bread we were never brought out bread... read more

We went to Becco on Sunday with a 6 PM reservation and were seated immediately. The service was exceptional but, there was a loud obnoxious woman behind us who cursed like a sailor with kids sitting next to us, and I wish that the server had said something. The Antipasti Caldo was delicious as was my hanger steak and my wife's striped bass. We will be back!
