Becco

4.3

About this business

Inspired by his travels across Italy, Joe Bastianich opened Becco with his mom Lidia to much fanfare. The word Becco comes from the Italian verb beccare, meaning "to nibble." A great addition to Broadway's dining alternatives, the lovely restaurant is a popular pit stop for theater-goers. Sample their delectable prix-fixe pasta menu and the kitchen's redefinition of Italian flavors with an impressive wine list and seasonal cocktails.

Becco was a terrific dining experience. The meal was perfectly staged, waiter/waitress were very attentive, and every item of food which came to our table was delicious and visually appealing. Dine here and you will not be disappointed.

I loved this place for the pasta, bar, and desserts, but the two main dishes we ordered were really salty and not very flavorful. I've two of Lidia Bastianich's cookbooks, some DVDs, and I truly love what she's brought to the average American in terms of Italian cuisine awareness and invention. The unlimited pasta plate should NOT be ordered for children unless they are vacuums of food and extremely hungry. It's alot, but it's also good. The pulled pork dish and the braised beef rib are not very good. Everything else was rea... read more

We were seated on time even though the restaurant was extremely busy during restaurant week. The menu at $29.00 was very good. I also had the $9.00 pasta add on. All three pastas were so good, two being made with homemade macaroni. Service was excellent. Wine at $29.00 a bottle was a bargain where other restaurants charge $12 to $15 a glass. Large selection of wines from Italy at that price. For dessert we had the panna cotta. Delicious!

Such a great find in the middle of the mish mash that Times Square is. Antipasto was delicious and home made pasta two thumbs up. With a nice glass of red wine and such good service, the evening couldn't have been better.
