A&E nurses want training in sickle cell care 18 JUNE, 2016 BY JO STEPHENSON Nurses are calling for more training to help them support people with sickle cell disease, after patients highlighted care failings in emergency departments and hospital wards. I think America needs to take a look at what London is trying to do for the care for sickle cell patients and stop treating them like it's too much of a challenge to understand them. I wrote this since June and to see how much they don't have interest in helping sickle cell di... read more

Baptist hospital sucks. Especially ER. Please avoid it. You might as well die outside waiting on the uncomfortable chairs right by the one tv broadcasting Trump and eating their nasty vending machine "food".

I have always had great experiences when visiting any of Baptists' facilities, however this experience has made me never want to go to Baptist ever again. From Janice in NICU D to Susan in NICU B. They have treated my daughter in the most horrible and disrespectful way. I spoke with Sheila and while she did try to help, IsIs chose other wise. Susan was evwn heard telling another nurse to not answer the phone because it was probably the babys grandmother (me) calling back to speak with IsIs. Im not sure if I have ever experie... read more

I don't know what is happening to Baptist. They used to be all about the care of the patient. I had to take my 88 year old mother to emergency and we were in the emergency room for 26 hours! They told us she would be admitted but had no available rooms!! I think it has a lot to do with the fact the most of the nurses and technicians are young people and it has turned into a social gathering and a place to mingle instead of a place to take care of the sick! Very disappointed with the care my mother received!!

At the reception, the staff does not have sense of urgency. The service can't be slower. If you are sick, prepare to spend 3-4 hours before you get a room. Ohh yes, they do check you in fast so the time start passing so they can charge more the insurance. Doctors laugh at each other in the main halls and take hours to see a patient that is diabetic, has a by-pass, and a bunch of issues. I am extremely disappointed in this place. If I were Baptist exec, I would wipe out the whole staff, demolish the place, and build it over, ... read more
